Prince Harry visits strip club

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-04-08 - 16:41:24

Just when they thought Cadet Officer Wales had finally grown up, Prince Harry proved there may still be a little way to go.

The third in line to the throne celebrated his penultimate week at Sandhurst with a trip to a naked table-dancing club.

Accompanied by his personal protection officer and four friends, the party downed vodka Red Bulls and ogled the gyrating girls at the Spearmint Rhino Club near Heathrow.

The group left at 4am, heading straight for Sandhurst, about 20 miles away, where they would have had time for very little sleep before breakfast at 6.30am.

A source at the club in Colnbrook, near Slough, said the young men arrived around 3am, and were entranced by the dancers performing on a small stage.

"Although Harry didn't have any private dances, two members of his party invited two of the girls over for nude dances at £20 a time and Harry got a very good look."

Although customers can opt to enjoy private dances in a booth, by having their dances at the table-side, Harry's friends ensured he saw everything he did.

The source added: "One of the girls they asked to dance naked was a tall statuesque blonde.

The club - which enforces a strict "no touching" rule for customers - would not comment yesterday. A spokesman said: "We have to maintain the utmost privacy for our clients, and although everyone is filmed on CCTV for security, we would never release those images."

Thankfully for Harry, it is not believed any paparazzi photographers were aware of his presence. The reaction of senior royals, and in particular his father Prince Charles, is likely to be mild irritation rather than anger.

A royal source said: "No one expects Harry to be a saint - he's a red-blooded young man whose new regiment the Blues and Royals is nicknamed the Booze and Royals.
"It's predictable that after staying the course at Sandhurst, he wants to let his hair down. And Charles and the Queen will at least be thankful that he didn't do any more than watch.

"The irritation will be that this story will take some of the shine off Harry's passing out parade next week. I think the senior royals will feel that once is permissible - just so long as he doesn't make a habit of it."

Harry's passing out, known as the Sovereign's Day Parade, will take place in front of his grandmother the Queen, Charles, Camilla and Prince William.

Although he was subject to a strict curfew when he arrived at Sandhurst, senior cadets are allowed significantly more freedom in their last term. They can go out at night during the week, so long as they are back for 6.30am roll call.

On Thursday night, Harry and his colleagues did several hours of ceremonial drill training in preparation for the parade, and were free of duties from 7pm onwards.

Yesterday Harry was back on duty at 7.30am for several hours of classes followed by more drill until almost 9pm.

A senior Sandhurst source said: "The only rule for cadets if they do go out is that it has to be more than three miles away from the campus. I think the aforementioned establishment comfortably exceeds that."

Clarence House made no comment but a source said: "The prince is 21 and what he does privately remains exactly that. The story's caused a fair bit of merriment among the prince's staff. Boys will be boys and Harry is more of a boy than most."

Boxing legend can only get with 16 year old's

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-04-08 - 16:32:17

A TEENAGE shop girl from Doncaster has revealed how she dumped boxing legend Mike Tyson, claiming he cheated on her with four women.

Heartbroken Chloe Butler, 16, decided to spill the beans on their eight-month affair after the former world heavyweight champ allegedly took part in a hotel orgy.

During Chloe's bizarre romance with feared 'Iron' Mike, she said he tried to give her £250,000 in cash, trashed a hotel room and threatened to kill his manager.

Despite his feared reputation - he served three years for rape - Chloe claimed Tyson was a gentle lover, who crooned James Blunt's song You're Beautiful to her and spoon-fed her ice-cream.

Even Chloe's parents approved of the relationship, despite twice-married Tyson's reputation and the 23-year age difference.

Blonde Chloe first met Tyson - once dubbed "the baddest man on the planet" - in June last year, days after her 16th birthday.

He was touring Britain in the "Legendary Boxing Dinner" shows and her parents, who had met Tyson before, took her along.

She said: "There was an instant spark and I thought he was so much cuter and softer than how he was painted - really childlike.

"He kept winking at me from the top table, sat next to Frank Bruno. Mike called me up to talk to him. He just kept saying how beautiful I was.

"Later, when he took the mike and was about to answer the audience's questions, he said, 'I love you Chloe'.

"At the end, he beckoned me over and said, 'Do you want to spend the night with me?' "

Chloe claimed their love affair began that evening at his hotel.

"I couldn't believe how gentle he was with me that night," she said.

"Every step of the way he kept asking if I was OK to go on.

"He even asked if I minded him taking his clothes off. I think he was really scared about being accused of rape again."

The next day Chloe travelled to London with him and they stayed in the expensive Grosvenor House Hotel. Then 39-year-old Tyson made his bizarre £250,000 cash offer. Chloe went on: "He handed me a plastic bag from the safe, as though it was nothing and said, 'I want you to have this Chloe'.

"When I looked inside, it was full of wads of money tied up with elastic bands. I said I didn't want it. But he put his big hands inside and started stuffing money in my trouser pocket and jacket pocket. I was just taking it all out again.

"In the end, there was money all over the floor. I still refused to take it and he just shook his head and said, 'You're stupid, Chloe'.

"But I thought why should I just be another girl after his money.

"I wanted to be different and didn't need money to stay faithful. It wasn't till afterwards that his friend told me how much money was in that bag."

A month later, Tyson, who bit off part of Evander Holyfield's ear in a 1997 fight, phoned to say he was buying her a plane ticket to join him in Las Vegas. She said: "I'd only ever gone to Skegness or Cleethorpes. My life suddenly became amazing."

Chloe stayed in a hotel suite the size of a house and sat around the pool watching Tyson pay £1,000 a time for brandy shots.

She said: "He spent more on drink in one weekend than I spend in two years. He even got me a £500 cocktail."

The teenager, who still lives with her parents, went on: "He was so generous with everyone. He said that all six of his children had £5million each in a trust fund for when they are older."

Chloe said she and Tyson were so close that when he was in a bad mood his security guards, manager and PA would ask for her help. It was like I was the only one who could control him. "I really felt we had a future when he started hinting about marriage. I really loved him. He loved loads of soppy music and would sing love songs to me. We used to have feasts at 3am when he would eat chips followed by a spoonful of ice cream."

Chloe added: "The age difference did not matter at all."

The relationship started to fall apart several weeks ago when Tyson trashed a hotel room after a night in Manchester, where Chloe met Wayne Rooney.

Tyson had been upset by autograph hunters and went wild back at the hotel. Chloe said: "He told me to get his manager out of there or he'd kill him. He wrecked the room. Straight after he did it, it was as if nothing had happened. He sat on the edge of the bed and said, 'Sorry, are you all right?' I asked him why he'd done it and he said, 'Things get on top of me sometimes."

Their relationship ended after Chloe read allegations that Tyson had slept with four women in a Brighton hotel. She said: "I got straight in a taxi from Yorkshire and went there to confront him. It cost me £300."

As he was having breakfast in the hotel, Chloe marched up to him for a showdown. She said: "His friends were laughing because I was telling this huge man to move his arse upstairs.

"But I was never scared of him, just furious he could have betrayed me. I was shouting at him but he denied cheating on me. I said I never wanted to see or speak to him again and stormed out. He really did break my heart. I had dreams of marrying him. We were good for each other."

Colin Farrell Teetotaller

Colinout&about

Colin Farrell was a surprise guest at the Gen Art Film Festival premiere of "Wristcutters: A Love Story" at the Chelsea West cinema on Thursday. Less surprising was the fact that Farrell and a group of friends spent two hours prior to the screening bellied up to the bar at the Westside Tavern, across 23rd street from the theater. Farrell graciously stepped behind the bar and posed for a photo with the bartender, a fellow Irishman, who wanted to send the picture to his ma.

It seems Farrell’s recent rehab stint has been successful: he drank only Coca-Cola while in the bar.

Farrell came to support his buddy, Shea Whigham, who stars in "Wristcutters". The two worked together on the movie "Tigerland". After the screening, the party moved on to the club Bed.

Former Blue star talks about his role in Ice Age 2

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-04-08 - 14:45:45

Lee Ryan has spoken to mtv about being in Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, down at the film’s premiere.

Speaking to mtv on the blue carpet (it was like a red carpet, but blue – like his old band!), Lee explained his involvement in the frosty sequel. “I do the voice for a character, in the English version of the film. It’s an Elk! I only have one little line but it’s cool, I was very happy to do it.”

He went on: “But the most amazing part for me is that in Italy I’m playing one of the characters called Eddie and I recorded it in Italian, so that’s cool.”

Lee has also recorded a song for the Ice Age 2 soundtrack called ’Real Love’, and in the video he’s seen dancing with animals from the film. But how did it compare to dancing with his old Blue bandmates? “Erm, it was about the same really!”

The Babyshambles frontman, who recently announced that he wants to marry the supermodel, is determined to change his ways and build a life with Kate.

A friend revealed, "Pete would like nothing more than to be the father of Kate's second child. He adores Kate's daughter and thinks she's a great mum. In an ideal world, he'd love to become a dad again. But Kate is currently working in New York and he's on tour.

"For now, they're both focusing on keeping their rekindled romance under wraps. But he has not only talked about marrying her in September at some posh Scottish castle, but he's also said he'd love to become a dad again. He thinks it could really help him."

Sonic Youth Tour With Pearl Jam, Rock "Gilmore Girls"

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-04-08 - 13:17:03

Pearl Jam continues its longstanding tradition of inviting bands much, much cooler than they are to tour with them, as it was announced today that the second leg of PJ's summer tour will feature not only Sonic Youth, but Robert Pollard, filling opening duties. Onward, to the MGM Grand Arena!

As previously reported, My Morning Jacket will join Eddie Vedder and his crew for the first part of their stadium-oriented U.S. stint. Then, Pollard will fill in for a couple shows, followed by, yes, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, for four performances. (No, Tom Petty is not opening for Pearl Jam; they seem to be co-headlining.) Sonic Youth will bring things to a close with a seven-show run.

Russell Simmons new girlfriend

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-04-08 - 13:11:40

After formally announcing his split from Kimora Lee Simmons, his wife of seven years — hip-hop and fashion mogul Russell Simmons told me there's still "a possibility" they can save their marriage.

"This morning we woke up, the four of us, in the same bed — which is pretty normal for us," Simmons told me, referring to Kimora and their daughters Ming Lee, 6, and Aoki, 3. He said the family started the day at their Saddle River, N.J., mansion — one of several Simmons residences, including an East Hampton estate, a Tribeca loft and houses in L.A. "On the day we made our announcement, I picked up my children from school and took them to see 'Ice Age 2: The Meltdown' with Kimora."

But at the same time, the 48-year-old Simmons acknowledged that he's been spending quality time with 23-year-old Dominican beauty and rap video starlet Denise Vasi, and insisted that he'd approve if Kimora, the 30-year-old "Fabulosity" author, found another guy.

"There would be just two requirements," Simmons told me. "One, he'd better be sweet to Kimora. Two, he'd better love my children."

Simmons complained about press accounts of their split "that made it look like we were unfaithful to each other. That's not true. We know each other very well." Simmons — who defines "unfaithful" as "dishonest" — indicated he'd told Kimora about his relationship with Vasi. "Yes, I'd been out with this girl. She's very sweet," he said.

During a phone interview that was interrupted twice by an aide saying that Kimora was trying to reach him, Simmons added: "I work with her 14 hours a day. The question is, do we want to be together 24 hours a day?

"We're making a space and taking some time, but we're best friends," said Simmons. "We're still going to have our media interests and our fashion interests. I am producing her reality show, and we're raising our children together. From what the public sees, there's absolutely no change."

Saturday, Russell and Kimora will be at Mar-a-Lago, where Donald and Melania Trump will co-host a Palm Beach fund-raiser for the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation.

"We've been together for 14 years. She was 16 when we met," Simmons said. "Now I guess we're different. We have different tastes. We have different aspirations in life."

Simmons said their separation drama will be featured on VH1's "The Kimora Lee Simmons Show," and laughed: "I'm sure the producers want to get it on the show sooner rather than later."

Simmons insisted that neither he nor Kimora has plans to hire lawyers to divide an estate potentially worth hundreds of millions of dollars, including companies involving fashion, jewelry, finance and television production. He said that Kimora wasn't available for comment.

"We're partners in everything. There's no money discussion with us. We're not going to have any fights over money. We're just not," he told me. "I'll bet you my bottom dollar and my top dollar."

Sufjan Stevens - "New" Album July 25, 2006

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-04-08 - 13:06:00

Singer/songwriter Sufjan Stevens has culled 21 pieces of music originally recorded during sessions for his 2005 album, "Illinois," for the new release "The Avalanche." The set will arrive July 25 via Stevens' own Asthmatic Kitty label.

Among the material here is demos, musical interludes, instrumentals and complete songs, many of which required "substantial editing, new arrangements or vocals," according to the label. Backing is provided by many of the same musicians who performed on "Illinois," including vocalists Rosie Thomas, Shara Worden and Katrina Kerns, drummer James McAlister and trumpet player Craig Montoro.

"Almost every song" on "The Avalanche" is rooted in an earlier "Illinois" track, including three different versions of "Chicago." The new title track was intended to appear on "Illinois" but ultimately wound up as a bonus track on the vinyl edition of the album.

"Illinois" recently won the first New Pantheon Award, which recognizes significant albums that have sold less than 500,000 copies in the United States.
