Coach McConaughey Reporting for Duty
Carl reveals all about Libertines split
Dirty Pretty Things leader Carl Barat has spoken out about the demise of The Libertines.
In the interview with The Guardian today (April 22) he denied that he kicked Pete Doherty out of the band.
"I never kicked him out of the band. I said to Pete,'You're in a state, you're not turning up for things, you're doing terrible things, which we won't go into- don't come to play this gig. You've missed half the tour anyway-don't come and play this gig. I don't think you're well enough.' He went nuts, and he wasn't well enough anyway, so we continued without him and the long and short of it is that afterwards I said, 'Don't come and play with us till you sort yourself out.'
"He took that as a massive 'up yours', got angry about it and rather than rectify the problems we were talking about he went and formed a band that would put up with his problems so it wouldn't be an issue."
Pete Doherty was released on bail following his arrest on suspicion of possessing class A drugs.
The Babyshambles singer is currently serving a 12-month community order that dates from his appearance at Ealing Magistrates Court in February after he pleaded guilty to a different set of drug-related charges.
Westlife star’s company in €52,000 loss
A PROPERTY development company owned by Westlife singer Shane Filan showed a loss of just over €52,000 last year.
But accounts for Shafin Developments Limited, which was set up by Shane and his older brother Finbarr a couple of years ago, show the company has assets of nearly than €4 million.
The company was incorporated in 2004 by Shane and his brother and the board also includes the singer’s wife Gillian and another director, Geraldine Gilroy.
According to the accounts, which cover the year to end June 2005, the company had stocks of €5.7 million and creditors of €1.76m.
However, since the year end, Shafin Developments has completed 100 houses in the village of Dromahair in Co Leitrim, which should push up the value of the company’s assets to around €15m.
Shafin also has total bank borrowings of €4.1m, which is secured against the company’s land at Dromahair, personal guarantees from Shane and charges over life assurance.
A note to the accounts also said that Shane loaned the company €1.48m during the year.
The 26-year-old Sligo-born singer is estimated to have earned close to €10m as part of Westlife.
The band have released seven albums with sales of more than 34 million worldwide.
Lawler lined up for next 'Love Island'
Kate Lawler is being lined up for the second series of Celebrity Love Island.
Producers have approached the Big Brother 3 winner to join the show's cast of single celebs, despite her on-off relationship with footballer Jonathan Woodgate.
"She looks fantastic in a bikini. She’ll be a real draw," a show source revealed.
"She’s also funny, feisty and loves to party hard. She hasn’t signed on the dotted line yet but TV bosses are bending over backwards to persuade her and it looks like she’ll sign any day now."
Girls Aloud forced to step up security
Girls Aloud have been forced to step up security after being harassed by a fan.
The singers have recently been inundated with fan letters and poetry, causing worry for their bosses.
A source said, "The girls are used to fan mail and attention but this guy is persistent to say the least. He writes them saucy letters up to ten times a day and bombards them kinky fan mail. He used to have an obsession with Mariah Carey but has had this fixation with Girls Aloud for the past year.
"He is getting a bit carried away but the girls are well protected and deal brilliantly with the attention. They have got extra security for the time being."
Sienna Miller dating model
Sienna Miller recently enjoyed a romantic holiday in Mexico with her new boyfriend, a New York model.
She jetted off with Nico Malleville, 31, to the Coqui Coqui spa in the Mayan Riviera, which the star's new flame owns.
Sources at Celebrity Weekly heard that: "The spa was the perfect retreat for them. It's like your own personal tropical hideaway, so it was ideal for Sienna and Nico to get to know each other better away from prying eyes."
After sharing romantic dinners and sightseeing the couple flew back to Los Angeles, where Miller introduced Malleville to best pal, Superman Returns star Kate Bosworth.
Miller currently filming Interview and Malleville works for DKNY.
Elton unhappy at George Michael "blame"
Elton John has denied George Michael's claims that he is responsible for recent fears over the star's lifestyle.
The singer insists that he has only ever attempted to help George through his problems.
"Did I crash George's car? Was I found slumped over the wheel in Hyde Park? No," Elton told a friend.
The pal told a newspaper, "Elton has been sober for 14 years and only ever sought to help George. He's been there. He's had his problems and accepted responsibility. He never blamed anyone.
"Elton is shocked and very upset he's been dragged into this. He's getting on with his life. George needs to start taking responsibility for his own actions and stop blaming everyone else. It's a terrible shame."
Gyllenhaals Go Skateboarding
"Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted yesterday "at 9:40 a.m., in a blue t-shirt, jeans and sunglasses and riding on a skateboard, speeding by the Two Boots Pizzeria on Seventh Ave.," according to a tipster. Word to the wise, Jake: Better stay off Eighth Ave. - in that part of town, you might not make it back alive." When Jake Gyllenhaal, 25, spotted photographers, he hid behind his skateboard and plastic bag. He also kept a firm grip on his pregnant sister Maggie Gyllenhaal, 28, as she went for a little ride down the street on his skateboard.
Everyone LOVES Tom Cruise
It's only been a few days since the birth of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' baby girl, Suri, and there's already a circus scene outside their Beverly Hills home!
As news of Suri's birth on Tuesday, April 18 at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica spread like wild fire, a giant crowd formed in front of their estate around 2:30 p.m. Onlookers, including fans, photographers, reporters, TV crews and neighbors, stood across the street from the gated home in hopes of catching a glimpse of TomKat and their firstborn child.
Onlookers shared information with each other about what they'd heard about the birth, as media helicopters circled above and police directed traffic. Even the Star Line tour buses carrying star-struck fans made five trips past the mansion.
One ecstatic male fan, who wore a T-shirt with a photo of a baby and "Yes Suri" written across the front, handed out cigars and drank milk from a baby bottle. Another fan dropped off a bright red baby carriage at the driveway. One onlooker led a chant, yelling, "Two, four, six, eight, time for you to open this gate!" asking the unrelenting guards to let fans onto the grounds of the TomKat mansion.
Although fans were kept at bay, they couldn't hold back their best wishes for the couple and their new, little addition. One fan told the crowd, "I wish Tom and Katie all the luck in the world. I hope their new daughter is going to be as gorgeous as they both are!"
D12 Member Swift Sentenced to Prison
A day after a warrant was issued for his arrest, D12 member Swift was sentenced yesterday to 93 days in jail for violating terms of his probation in a drunken driving case.
As SOHH previously reported, Swift (born Ondre Moore) failed to make a court appearance on April 20 following the funeral of his slain group mate Proof where he was serving as an honorary pallbearer.
Swift was due in court on Wednesday afternoon (April 19) for a hearing which would determine whether he violated terms of his probation stemming from a drunken driving case.
The rapper had been ordered to stay away from drugs and alcohol after pleading guilty last October to an operating a vehicle while visibly impaired charge. Since then, he had tested positive twice for drugs and alcohol and has spent several days in jail.
According to authorities, Swift was found near his Novi, Michigan home and was escorted by police to the court where Judge Mackenzie, who issued the arrest warrant, sentenced him to 93 days in the Oakland County Jail, with 10 days credit for time he previously spent in jail for the same offense.
In related news, Mario Etheridge, the C.C.C. nightclub bouncer who shot and killed Proof after the rapper pistol whipped and shot his cousin, Keith Bender, is expected to attend his preliminary hearing on next Wednesday (April 26).
Etheridge, who is currently in custody after turning himself in a day after the shootout occurred, is charged with two counts of possession of a concealed weapon and discharge of a firearm in a building but not Proof's murder. He plead not guilty to both charges when he was arraigned this past Saturday and is facing up to nine years in prison, if convicted.

The 23-year-old bombshell was aboard Martinair Flight 643 on Thursday. She was ''loud and disruptive all throughout the flight,'' according to a Miami-Dade police spokeswoman.
Airport police arrested the woman when the flight landed. She continued her unruly behavior with officers, police said.
Andersen was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital to check for signs of alcohol or drug abuse, then booked into Miami-Dade County Jail.
The leggy model has worked in advertising for J. Crew and Victoria's Secret, and has posed in Sports Illustrated's famed swimsuit edition.

'48 Hours' Reveals Lost 'Marilyn Tapes'
Was there more to Hollywood legend MARILYN MONROE's tragic death in 1962? On Saturday night, CBS' "48 Hours Mystery" airs its own investigation into the case, which may provide new clues to the blonde bombshell's death at the age of 36 -- was it a murder, and was there a cover-up?
"I think it's very obvious that there was a cover-up, without question," says Playboy magazine founder HUGH HEFNER, who published a nude photo of Marilyn for the mag's first issue.
Her death at the time was announced a probable suicide, but the CBS show was granted unprecedented access to the only official inquiry that looked at Monroe's death as a potential homicide. They reveal previously unreleased audio tapes involving those who knew and worked with Marilyn as well as those involved in the case of her death.
Friend and 'Some Like It Hot' co-star TONY CURTIS recalls, "I knew there was something disturbing her. For some inexplicable reason, she was going down the wrong path and no one knew it."
The inquiry, led by the L.A. District Attorney's office in 1982, produced hundreds of pages of documents, and many taped interviews, including one with Marilyn's personal physician, DR. HYMAN ENGELBERG.
Bow Wow Responds To Lil' Romeo And Master P.
The feud between Bow Wow and Lil' Romeo has intensified, as Bow Wow has responded to comments Master P made surrounding the two rappers' growing beef.
Lil' Romeo's father, Master P, confirmed that the two rappers had crossed paths backstage at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Award show, on April 1st.
According to Master P, Bow Wow ran in his trailer and refused to talk about tensions with Lil' Romeo.
Now, Bow Wow has come forward to address Master P and Lil' Romeo.
"I can't understand all this, but I guess that's how it is when you ain't getting no attention," Bow Wow said. "You can hear me on the radio all day, every day. You [Lil' Romeo] can't sell no records, and your daddy is on Dancing With the Stars."
Lil' Romeo was apparently offended at the line on the song "Fresh Azimiz," where Bow Wow claimed to be making more money than an unspecified person's father.
Romeo released a diss to Bow Wow titled, "Hood Stars." Master P also accused Bow Wow's success of going to the rapper's head.
"I just think Bow Wow done sold a couple records and got real cocky, and forgot where he came from," Master P said in a previous interview.
Bow Wow dismissed Master P's allegations.
"The crazy part is the line that got them all bent outta shape was an old LL line ("The Do Wop from LL Cool J's 1987 album Bigger and Deffer). That shows how much they know about Hip-Hop."
Bow Wow also countered Master P's challenge to a Pay-Per-View boxing match between Romeo and Bow Wow.
"If Romeo wanna make some real money, come sign with me," Bow Wow said. "Then, he wouldn't have to pull these stunts 'cause there ain't No Limit over here."
