Heather McCartney Defends Marriage

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-05-07 - 14:35:16

Sir Paul McCartney's wife Heather has hit back at media reports the couple's marriage is in trouble, branding the rumours "total rubbish".

The former model is furious with reports she and the former Beatle are living apart, claiming she is merely resting after having surgery on her partly-amputated left leg five weeks ago.

The animal rights activist claims the media started the rumours after she refused to allow pictures to be taken of her until she recovers from the surgery.

She says, "Paul and I are very much together. We will one hundred percent sue on this because it is total rubbish.

"Someone has put a contract on me to get a picture, which is quite sick. I have been called by one of the paparazzi guys who said that they called Paul and said if you give me a picture of her we won't chase her but if she doesn't we will. That is sick.

"I am keeping my head down until I can recover properly because I don't want to give them a picture.

"Paul and I are together one hundred percent. I will see him soon - I see him all the time. I can't wait to sue because I will make a fortune for my charity."

Blaine pulls celeb crowds

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-05-07 - 14:07:58

Illusionist David Blaine is drawing in some famous faces in New York as he spends a week in a water tank.

As the eccentric magic man spends seven days under water in a spherical tank, his famous admirers are making the pilgrimage to come and view his progress.

So far Colin Farrell and Matt Dillon have been spotted among the onlookers at the spectacle which Blaine has named Drowned Alive.

At the end of the seven days, Blaine will be chained and handcuffed and his oxygen supply will be removed.

He then has to escape from his water-filled bubble before he drowns.

Previously Blaine spent 44 days suspended in a glass box above the Thames in London.

ALBARN JOKES OF GALLAGHER COLLABORATION

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-05-07 - 13:56:48

DAMON ALBARN has jokingly asked his rock rival LIAM GALLAGHER to appear on the next GORILLAZ album - depending on "how OASIS does in the next 12 months". Albarn famously feuded with the Gallaghers when a chart war between his band BLUR and Oasis kicked off in the 1990s. But he has pretended to put their tensions behind them, inviting the WONDERWALL star to join him on his next effort. He says, "I'd love him to be on the next Gorillaz record, but let's wait and see how his band does in the next 12 months. "I'm sure he'll be all right on his own - he doesn't really need me."

Rihanna says she'll 'learn from Whitney's mistakes'

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-05-07 - 13:53:22

R&B sensation RIHANNA is refusing to take her new-found fame too seriously, because she fears ending up like her idol WHITNEY HOUSTON. The PON DE REPLAY singer, who sang Houston's FOR THE LOVE OF YOU to clinch a deal with rap mogul JAY-Z, is horrified by recent reports of Houston's descent into a life of drink and drugs. And she has determined to learn from Houston's mistakes and remain true to herself. She says, "I love Whitney Houston. She is a big idol of mine and so influential. "Seeing how things can go wrong when you seem to have everything is educational. "Whitney has made some of the greatest songs ever. I don't want what's happened to her to happen to me and that's why I don't take fame too seriously."

Mother of Dead Porn Star may sue Sheen

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-05-07 - 13:51:02

Charlie Sheen's legal woes continue to mount up - he's now being linked to the death of a porn star. Chloe Jones, a former Penthouse Pet, was found dead in her Houston, Texas, home last June just months after going public with a steamy affair she had with Sheen.

And now the X-rated star's mother Donna is considering filing a wrongful death suit against the actor because she thinks he drove her daughter to take her own life.

Speaking exclusively to American tabloid the Globe, Donna Jones says, "I've seen a lawyer about filing a wrongful death suit against Mr. Sheen. I think he didn't slip her the pills - but he drove her to it with death threats. She'd (Chloe) call me 10 times a day telling me of her fears. She was terrified to death of the guy."

Tori Spelling, Dean McDermott Wed in Fiji

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-05-07 - 13:49:18

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott were married Sunday on a private tropical island in Fiji.

The non-denominational ceremony was attended only by the bride and groom, both barefoot and wearing white.

"We didn't want to wait another day to get married," Spelling says.

Adds her new husband, "I've never had as much of a desire to get married and make a woman my wife as I've had with her. The feeling is overwhelming. We're soul mates."

Spelling, 32, and McDermott, 39, met last summer in Ottawa while filming the TV movie Mind Over Murder. At the time, she was wed to actor-writer Charlie Shanian, and McDermott was married to his wife of 12 years, Mary Jo Eustace.

"It just happened," a Spelling friend told PEOPLE about their romance. "No one meant any harm to anyone. You can't help who you fall in love with and who you're right with."

In September, Spelling announced her split from Shanian, and McDermott filed for divorce from Eustace. Spelling's divorce became final last month.

McDermott proposed to the So NoTORIous star on Christmas Eve in Toronto, Canada. His sister put out lights leading to a table for two surrounded by decorated Christmas trees. The couple rode up in a horse-drawn carriage, and McDermott presented Spelling with a diamond and sapphire ring.

"It was so magical. All the stars aligned. I have never been happier in my life," McDermott said at the time.

McDermott has since shown his love for Spelling with tattoos, including one on his wrist that reads "Truly, Madly, Deeply, Tori" and another on his shoulder: a portrait of her.
