Which well-known boyband star is getting a reputation as a sex pest? The singer regularly gets touchy-feely with other women despite having an other half. And we know there is so much dish to dirt on the chap it's hard to believe he manages to hide behind his innocent facade.

Rock recluse Axl Rose made a surprise radio appearance to proclaim that Guns N' Roses 10-years-in-the-making "Chinese Democracy" album will finally hit store shelves this fall.

The comments Saturday on Eddie Trunk's syndicated radio show marked the first interview the painfully private Rose has given since his failed 2002 comeback tour, which was abruptly scrapped midway amid riots and canceled shows.

Roses impromptu appearance came when former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach, who was co-hosting the show, called Rose's cell phone and patched the call through the studio.

Quizzed on when the near-mythical album would come out, Rose said, "Sometime this fall or late fall." His band could be heard rehearsing in the background. "It will be out this year."

Trunk invited Rose to drop by the studio, and about an hour later he did.

Asked about the aborted 2002 comeback tour, which ended when Rose failed to appear for a gig in Philadelphia, Rose told Trunk he felt pressured into doing it before he was ready. But he insisted he has no regrets, since the short-lived tour helped the new band members to gel. (The 2002 lineup included keyboard player Dizzy Reed from the original GNR, former Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck, bassist Tommy Stinson from the Replacements, guitar shredder Buckethead, drummer Brian "Brain" Mantia formerly of Primus, guitarist Richard Fortus from the former Psychedelic Furs and Love Spit Love, and keyboard player Chris Pittman.)

"Can you tell people why the tour ended at that point?" asked Trunk.

"Umm, no, not exactly," said Rose, declining to discuss it.

Plans are currently in the works for Rose to relaunch his comeback by playing four shows at New Yorks Hammerstein Ballroom over the next 10 days, then head to Europe to play several music festivals.

Rose said the band at the Hammerstein shows will be similar to the one that played the 2002 tour, except for a new lead guitarist, whom he declined to identify except to say it's not an old GNR member. Buckethead left the band in 2004.

However, later in the broadcast, Rose seemed to contradict himself when he said hes been hobnobbing with former GNR guitarist and songwriter Izzy Stradlin, and strongly hinted that Stradlin may show up for the Hammerstein shows.

Former GNR guitar maestro Slash may end up back in the band as well, but probably not before the Hammerstein shows.

Eight months after it was first slated to hit stores, Pharrell Williams' solo debut, "In My Mind," is now being eyed for a July 25 release via Interscope. Among the tracks now slated for inclusion is "Number 1," which features Kanye West. The pair appear in the video for the cut, which was recently filmed in Miami.

"In My Mind" was originally supposed to feature seven R&B-leaning tracks and seven others with more of a hip-hop approach. Two songs have already been worked to U.S. radio outlets: "Can I Have It Like That" featuring Gwen Stefani and "Angel."

Williams also performed another track, "Mamacita," with Daddy Yankee last December at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. Other guests expected to appear on "In My Mind" include Slim Thug, Nelly and Jay-Z.

Williams remains as busy as ever collaborating with other artists, including Nelly Furtado, Pitbull, Lupe Fiasco and, as first reported here, Velvet Revolver.

More than a thousand cheering fans who turned out Tuesday night to greet movie star Tom Cruise were delighted by a bonus - he brought fiancee Katie Holmes.

Cruise, in town for a makeshift premiere of "Mission: Impossible III," signed autographs and briefly played a snare drum as a high school marching band played the theme from his new movie.

Cruise and Holmes, who gave birth last month to the couple's first child, a daughter named Suri, arrived fashionably late - about a half hour after the star had been expected.

Tatyana Simanava nearly became a tragic fashion victim yesterday - stepping off the runway of a moving bus and tumbling out the door onto the Gowanus Expressway.

The Russian stunner hit the pavement at 40 mph, smashing her arm, dislocating a shoulder, cutting her face and head - but somehow surviving the plunge.

The statuesque blond beauty, who has been featured in ads for Garnier, Longchamp jewelry and David's Bridal, only narrowly missed being hit by traffic or crushed by the bus itself, cops said.

"She's lucky she wasn't killed," said a police source. "She could have easily gotten run over."

The 21-year-old model had been traveling to a Staten Island photo shoot with other members of international agency Next Models, cops said.

She somehow got disoriented after stepping into a passageway outside the bathroom of the luxury bus.

"There was a door leading back inside the bus to her left, and one leading out of the bus to her right," said a traffic cop at the scene.

"I guess she got disoriented."

The bus, owned by Hoboken-based On Time Elite, is designed to be used as living space for models and movie stars on shoots.

In place of rows of seats, the bus is fitted with changing rooms, a kitchen and an open living area - to where Simanava was trying to return.

Instead, she plunged out a door on the driver's side of the bus, narrowly avoiding being struck by the rear wheels of the vehicle.

If she had used the correct door, Simanava would have returned to the living area, where the other models were seated. Instead, she fell through the door by the bathroom

On-Time Elite founder Linda Safir said yesterday, "Our hopes and our prayers are with this young woman and we are hoping that she is okay."

She refused to comment about the accident.

The bus driver initially refused comment when approached at his Staten Island home. After briefly emerging on his porch, he announced, "You can put anything in the paper you want."

Simanava was taken to Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn still conscious and speaking to paramedics, emergency workers said. Doctors there were evaluating her for internal injuries last night.

He says, "I'm sitting there smoking meth. I can't get high anymore. I'm so miserable. I had been watched for two weeks by the Newport Beach police department, who saw me grow up - they know who I am. "They're following me for two weeks getting ready to bust me, to put in prison for seven to 35 years. That was my low. "I did 90 days in jail and I did six months in rehab and that rehab stuck."

A lawsuit has been filed against Kanye West and his production company claiming breach of contract for not returning a Mercedes-Benz after its lease expired in January.

The lawsuit, filed Friday in Superior Court by Delaware-based DCFS Trust, said West's Konman Entertainment leased a 2003 Mercedes G500 in September 2002, with the agreement calling for 39 consecutive payments of $1,295 a month.

As Konman's president, West signed as lease guarantor, according to the lawsuit.

DCFS Trust claimed the luxury sport utility vehicle was not returned as scheduled and holdover fees were not paid.

Phone messages left Wednesday for the 27-year-old rapper's publicist, Gabe Tesoriero, were not immediately returned. Konman Entertainment could not be reached because the firm has an unlisted phone number.

DCFS Trust, which took over the lease from Prestige Motors Inc., is seeking $53,747, plus attorney fees, accruing lease payments, late charges, interest and punitive damages.

DCFS Trust declined comment on the legal action.

"Our client does not address ongoing litigation," DCFS Trust's attorney, Rebecca Caley, said.

CREEPS are coming out of the woodwork to besmirch poor Charlie Sheen now that his estranged wife, Denise Richards, has trashed him in divorce papers. The latest finger-pointer is publicity-loving pimp Jason Itzler, who says the sitcom star hired two of his hottest girls to dress up like cheerleaders and do a lesbian act.

The oily owner of the New York Confidential escort service called from Rikers Island to say that in 2004, Sheen shelled out more than $20,000 for Cheryl, a blond ballerina and Juilliard grad, and Victoria, a dark-haired former Hotel Gansevoort hostess, for romps at trendy 60 Thompson in SoHo.

"They loved Charlie. They said he was a great guy, a great lover and had a big [bleep]," Itzler said from prison, where he's cooling his heels on money-laundering and prostitution charges. "One time, he had them dress up like cheerleaders and they chanted, 'Charlie, Charlie, he's our man! If he can't do it, nobody can!' " Itzler also said Sheen would play X-rated movie director, guiding Cheryl, 20, and Victoria, 19, into steamy lesbian scenes.

Of course, it's wise to take everything a jailbird says with a grain of salt. Still, Itzler's claim comes only weeks after the release of nasty court papers in which a bitter Richards complained about Sheen's ongoing love of hookers and Internet porn, saying it endangered their kids.

Sheen who's been in rehab for booze and drugs in the past, is no stranger when it comes to high-priced ladies of the night. He once admitted being one of the many well-heeled clients of Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleiss, blowing as much as $50,000 on her sizzling stable of red-hot vice girls.

Richards has also claimed the 40-year-old "Two and a Half Men" star threatened to kill her. And Sheen's name has come up in the case of one of his old conquests, Chloe Jones, a Penthouse Pet and porn star, who overdosed on pills in her Texas home. Jones' mother told the Globe she feels Sheen may have made threats that drove her daughter to suicide.

And poor Charlie is suffering other indignities, too. Last week, one report that was furiously denied by Sheen had him going to Las Vegas to see transvestite Kayla Coxx.
