Ellen DeGeneres, who promised viewers she would reveal a photo of Tom Cruise's newborn daughter Suri, whips out a chart of baby pictures and asks the new dad to identify which child looks most like his. Cruise picked the top left photo – but, making adjustments with a Sharpie, said Suri had more hair and fiancée Katie Holmes's lips.

Sambora denies cheating claims
@ 2006-05-12 – 10:17:24
Richie Sambora has denied claims he cheated on wife Heather Locklear.
The Bon Jovi guitarist, who has been linked to his estranged spouse's best friend Denise Richards, insists reports that he had an affair before splitting from the blonde actress are rubbish.
He told a Us magazine: "I remained faithful during my marriage. And I defy anyone to refute that. I will do anything to enable all of us to move past all of this."
The rocker and Richards were reportedly spotted kissing and cuddling at a Cafe near Los Angeles, but there was no suggestion they had started their romance while both married to their now estranged partners.
Former Bond girl Richards is currently locked in a bitter divorce battle with Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen, while Sambora and Locklear are also preparing to drag each other through the courts.
Meanwhile, a source close to the musician claims he is furious that his wife is angry he is now dating Richards - because he feels he has the right to move on even if she is her best friend.
The friend said: "He can't believe he's accused of wrongdoing, since Heather ended the marriage, tried to break their ironclad prenuptial and has now started dating David Spade."

Gyllenhaal says she was ready to quit movie
@ 2006-05-12 – 09:37:43
When Maggie Gyllenhaal caused a stir with comments about the United States' role in the Sept. 11 attacks, she was particularly concerned about the opinions of two people.
The star says she was ready to drop out of Oliver Stone's upcoming film World Trade Center if Port Authority officer Will Jimeno or his wife, whom Gyllenhaal plays in the film, did not accept her explanation.
"I wanted to tell them the absolute truth of what I meant," the actress said of her visit to the Jimenos' home following her comments last year. "If they still didn't want me to play Allison after that, then I wouldn't have."
The 28-year-old actress said in an interview in April 2005 that the United States "is responsible in some way" for the attacks. Gyllenhaal later said that she regretted the comment and issued a statement saying that Sept. 11 was "an occasion to be brave enough to ask some serious questions about America's role in the world."
The Jimenos said a long talk with Gyllenhaal in their Chester, New Jersey, home smoothed over any concerns they might have had. Will Jimeno was among the last responding personnel rescued from the rubble of the World Trade Center at ground zero.
"Right away, both Will and I felt comfortable with her and realized how sincere and passionate she is. We had no problem with her in this movie," said Allison Jimeno, 34.
Speaking in an interview published Monday in the New York Post, Gyllenhaal recalled her nervousness as she travelled to the couple's home.
"I was shaking," she said.
The native New Yorker's film credits include Mona Lisa Smile, Secretary and Donnie Darko, which co-stars her brother, Jake Gyllenhaal. She is engaged to actor Peter Sarsgaard and is pregnant with his child.

Brad Pitt Going To Cannes
@ 2006-05-12 – 08:56:03
When Babel, the latest offering from Alejandro González Iñárritu, premieres at the Cannes Film Festival this month, it will be a remarkable moment for Mexican cinema. Before 2000, when the director's debut, Amores Perros, took Cannes by storm, Mexican films were rarely seen by international audiences. This year, one of Babel 's main competitors for the Palme d'Or will be Pan's Labyrinth, by González Iñárritu's compatriot Guillermo del Toro. That two Mexican films are competing for the most prestigious prize in world cinema is a measure of how far the Mexican industry has come in the past six years.
Babel, starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett and Gael Garcia Bernal, is currently scheduled to show at Cannes on Tuesday, May 23 and open in limited release on Friday, October 6.

Kelly Osbourne regrets nearly attacking a fan who recognised her while she was shopping for clothes.
The singer, who reached fame after starring on the show based around her hectic family life - The Osbournes - nearly seriously hurt a fan when she was recognised in London fashion store Topshop.
Osbourne said: 'This girl came up to me and shouted, 'That's Kelly Osbourne!' and pointed her finger in my face - literally her fake nail touched my nose and I just flipped.
"I grabbed her hand and said, 'Don't fk with me, or I'm going to break your fking finger off.'"
But Osbourne insisted she would react differently now she has been through rehab and therapy. She said: "I'd probably say, 'Can you possibly not put your finger so close to my face, but it's nice to meet you.'
"I'm so over fighting or being upset when people say something horrible about me."

Mark Wahlberg Is Still Haunted By 9/11
@ 2006-05-12 – 03:22:00
Mark Wahlberg still dreams about stopping the terrorists who attacked New York City and Washington, D.C., on September 11, 2001, because he should have been on one of the planes that crashed. The actor and some friends were booked on United Airlines flight 93 from his native Boston, Mass., to Los Angeles, which was hijacked by Al-Qaida terrorists.
Brave passengers forced the jet to crash into a field in Pennsylvania before it could reach it's intended target, and the thought that he could have been involved still haunts Wahlberg.
The 34-year-old, who decided to fly from Toronto, Canada, instead at the last minute, says, "We certainly would have tried to do something to fight. I've had probably over 50 dreams about it."

Christina Aguilera Goes Back To Basics
@ 2006-05-12 – 03:17:07
Paying tribute to the music that inspired her, pop icon Christina Aguilera will release her third studio album, Back To Basics, August 15th on RCA Records. A modern take on vintage jazz, soul and blues from the 1920s, ‘30s and ‘40s, the album is wildly inventive with a throwback style creating a sound that’s gritty and raw. Back To Basics reunites her with producer Linda Perry as well as creating new collaborations with producers such as DJ Premier.
The sexy first single, “Ain’t No Other Man,” produced by DJ Premier and Charles Roane, is set for release on June 12th. It will be world-premiered on the MTV Movie Awards on June 8th.
“This is a concept album that follows a bold, set vision,” stated Aguilera. “The touchstones are Billie Holiday, Otis Redding, Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald.... what I used to call my ‘fun music’ when I was a little girl.”
Back To Basics utilizes an orchestra, choir, string quartet and jazz horns, as well as techniques that offer a vintage sound and sensibility. “I Got Trouble” incorporates a scratchy blues feel, while “Candy Man” recalls the tight harmonies of all-girl groups from the ‘30s and ‘40s “Save Me From Myself” is an emotionally naked, raw-sounding song dedicated to her husband. “Thank You,” dedicated to her fans, features DJ Premier splicing bits of “Genie In A Bottle” with fan voicemail messages. Also sure to appeal to Aguilera fans is the risqué song “Nasty Naughty Boy” (which has a ‘20s burlesque feel) and the club track “Still Dirrty,” assuring her fans that she’s “still got the nasty in me, …still got that dirty degree…still got that freak in me.”

actor charged over net porn
@ 2006-05-12 – 02:50:33
Award-winning comedian Chris Langham has been charged with 15 counts of making indecent images of children, Kent Police have confirmed.
Officers charged Mr Langham, 57, of Cranbrook, Kent, after he answered bail on Wednesday.
The star of BBC comedy The Thick Of It has been bailed to appear before magistrates in Sevenoaks on 17 May.
The Bafta winner was arrested in November as part of an investigation into child pornography on the internet.
As well as the best comedy performance Bafta, which he won on Sunday, also won the prize for best comedy actor at the British Comedy Awards last year for The Thick of It and Help.
The Thick of It, which transferred from BBC Four to BBC Two earlier this year, sees Langham playing harassed government minister Hugh Abbot.
In Help, he played psychiatrist Peter opposite Paul Whitehouse. The pair also wrote the script for the series.
In a statement issued through his solicitors, Mr Langham said: "I am devastated to have been charged with offences arising from a police investigation.
"I am anxious to clear my name and although there is a great deal I would like to say, I am unable to do so as a result of the legal proceedings.
"I request once again that the privacy of my family is respected and thank the media for their restraint in this regard so far.
"I will not be making any further comment."
The charges relate to an ongoing police inquiry linked to Operation Ore, the UK's largest-ever police investigation into paedophile activity on the internet.

ne-yo banned
@ 2006-05-12 – 02:47:25
A Ne-Yo concert scheduled at a Catholic girls school was cancelled yesterday because of his raunchy lyrics.
Pupils at the Mercy High School in Detroit, Michigan, had won the show in a seat-belt use competition sponsored by a radio station.
But after discovering the words to his hit In My Own Words are of a sexual nature, authorities at the school decided he would be a bad influence on students.
Principal Carolyn Witte says, "The bottom line is I have to make decisions based on what I think is going to be in line with what we are, what we teach, and how we've dialogued with students."
Distraught student Siobhan Jones says, "Everyone was really excited. Everybody was singing his songs in the hallway."

Byker Grove to end after 17 years
@ 2006-05-12 – 02:43:14
The next series of children's drama Byker Grove will be the last, the BBC has announced.
The show's cancellation comes as the CBBC programme strand begins to focus on a primary school audience.Controller of children's programmes Richard Deverell called it "a great programme for CBBC with some ground-breaking stories".
Byker Grove has been running for 17 years, and launched the careers of Ant and Dec, and actress Donna Air.
The drama, which is set in a Tyneside youth club, was first shown as a pilot in 1989. A full series was commissioned the following year.
It has featured several hard-hitting storylines, including drug addiction, teenage pregnancy and abortion.
In 1995, it became the first children's drama to tackle the subject of homosexuality, when Brett Adam's character, Noddy Fishwick, kissed another boy in the back of a cinema.
Launchpad for success
Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly played PJ and Duncan in the programme before graduating to a career in pop music.
More recently they have found success as the hosts of ITV1's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and Saturday Night Takeaway. They recently made their film debut in Alien Autopsy.
The duo returned to Byker Grove in October 2000 to attend the funeral of youth club manager, Geoff, who died in an accidental gas explosion.
Other actors to have appeared in the series include Jill Halfpenny, Denise Welch and Roger Lloyd Pack.
The final series of Byker Grove will be broadcast in September on BBC One.

Lohan's Record Company Fined $12M
@ 2006-05-12 – 02:37:01
The New York state attorney general has levied a $12 million fine against Universal Music Group for payola.
This is the largest fine so far in the war between Eliot Spitzer and the music industry, surpassing the $10 million that Sony had to pay and the $5 million for Warner Music Group.
But Universal — home of many overnight stars including several rappers who’ve come and gone — would be the place for this. The company has had enormous success, but at the same time encountered lawsuits from middle-men distributors claiming inflated sales numbers — double dipping at the cash register, so to speak.

Paris Hilton: I'm An Idiot
@ 2006-05-12 – 02:33:59
Paris Hilton unveiled her new video game on Thursday, but inexplicably called it by the wrong name as she greeted throngs of fans and photographers.
Wearing a green minidress and red platform pumps, Hilton made a brief appearance at the Electronic Entertainment Expo to promote "Paris Hilton's Jewel Jam."
"Sorry I'm late," the heiress said. "I'm really excited to have my new video game, 'Diamondquest.' Thank you all for coming, and you can download the game," she said.
After Hilton arrived, men in business suits jockeyed for space with reporters and computer geeks as she sat at a table posing for photographers while signing autographs.
Her game, which can be played on a cell phone, will be available this summer. Video game maker Gameloft will produce a series of video games with Hilton.
The expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center showcases the latest innovations in the video game industry.
