Sean Bean snuck off from working on-set for a trip down memory lane at a welders' yard.

The actor – currently filming Outlaw - was a welding apprentice before finding fame.

Chris Holmes, 42, said the star dropped into his Gloucestershire business and had a cup of coffee and a go at welding.

"He said he used to be a welder and fancied getting back into it and asked if I would mind him having a go," he explained. "He had dodged all the fancy film people. I think he was fed up with them.

"I told him if his film career went up in smoke he could go back to welding. He's not too bad."

Meat Loaf is defending his right to use the phrase "Bat Out of Hell" in a legal battle with the man who wrote the original song.

The singer has taken Jim Steinman to court saying that the writer and producer has been trying to delay the release of his Bat Out of Hell III album.

He insists that – since he has been publicly linked to the phase since 1977 – he has the right to use it.

The Los Angeles lawsuit, which is claiming £30 million damages, rejects Steinman's claim. Meat Loaf's lawyer told the court: "This contention is blackmail and a holdup."

Steinman pulled out of working with Meat Loaf after the second Bat Out of Hell when the pair fell out.

Chico has become a dad after his "soul mate" gave birth to baby girl Lalla-Khira Slimani at 9lb 7oz.

The singer and Daniyela Rakic, his best friend of 15-years, decided to have a baby together while he was competing in the ITV show last year.

"I am ecstatic," said the star. "Lalla-Khira is beautiful and I am looking forward to fatherhood."

Chico, from Morocco, said he wanted a child of his own after working with young dancers on the video for number-one single 'It's Chico Time'.

"Daniyela and I never looked at each other as anything more than soulmates until one night during X Factor," he said recently. "It was just the right time for us. She had been talking about having a baby and I've always wanted a baby.

Charlotte Church and Kylie Minogue have picked up the top honours at Glamour magazine's Women of the Year Awards.

Minogue was named Woman of the Year while the 'Voice of an Angel' singer took UK Solo Artist of the Year and an Editor's Special Award.

Minogue – recognised for her successful battle against cancer – could not make it on the night. She sent a video message for fans, however. "The last year has been my least public but, in many ways, the most," she said. "Your support has been an enormous help and I hope to be back with you all in person very soon."

Elsewhere, Billie Piper (Doctor Who) took UK TV Actress of the Year and X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne was TV Personality of the Year. Davina McCall was named Presenter of the Year despite her failed chat show and Naomi Campbell got an Outstanding Contribution Award.

Britney Spears has hired a male nanny — some have dubbed him a “manny” — to help take care of baby Sean Preston, and the buzz is that her hubby is jealous of the hunky new guy in her life.

The manny, who has been identified in reports as either Perry or Henry, was originally hired as a bodyguard, but lately he’s been taking on the role of “man of the house,” according to In Touch magazine, and has been doing chores that had been done by Federline. He was even spotted buying Spears flowers.

“[Federline] doesn’t like that this guy is taking care of his baby,” an “insider” told the mag. “He feels like Britney is throwing it in his face.”

What’s more, Spears reportedly is redecorating her house, ditching Federline’s beloved black leather furniture in favor of a “1950s boudoir” look she favors. “She’s using pink, cream and apricot silk, lace and feathers,” reports the insider. “[Kevin] claims that he can’t think in the house any more and it’s affecting his music. [He] is complaining that the place is ‘some high-school chick's bedroom.’”

American music diva Mariah Carey will perform for the first time in Tunisia in July.

Two concerts are scheduled in El Menzeh Olympic Stadium, in the Tunisian capital Tunis, July 22nd and July 24th, 2006.

Larry Hagman, Kathleen Turner and Brooke Shields will guest-star on cable channel FX's "Nip/Tuck" next season. Hagman will play the much older husband of a beautiful thirtysomething woman (Sanaa Lathan), who buy McNamara/Troy, the Miami-based plastic surgery practice of Dr. Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and Dr. Christian Troy (Julian McMahon). Turner will play Cindy Plumb, a scotch- and cigarette-voiced phone-sex operator who comes to McNamara/Troy to rejuvenate her voice through a vocal cord surgery.

Shields will appear in the "Nip/Tuck" fourth-season opener as Dr. Wolper, a shrink in whom Troy confides. Hagman is best known for his roles in "Dallas" and "I Dream of Jeannie." Turner voices one of the characters in Sony's upcoming animated feature "Monster House." Shields starred in "Suddenly Susan," which ran for four seasons on NBC.
