Joanna Krupa's popularity has soared in the last year and has been declared the Sexiest Woman in the World by an assortment of polls recently, so we thought we’d jump on the bandwagon and declare her the Sexiest Woman in the Universe.
Joanna was voted “2005 Model of the Year”, and has been named as one of the most requested cover stars, alongside Gisele Bündchen, Jessica Alba, Adriana Lima, Angelina Jolie, Josie Maran and Ana Beatriz.
In addition to gracing the pages of world-renowned magazines, Joanna has appeared in a number of exciting upcoming film and television projects. She will soon light up the big screen in "Skinner Box", alongside Lost star Josh Holloway.
Other movie credits include Scott Caan’s "The Dog Problem", in which she will act alongside Giovanni Ribisi; "Ripple Effect" with Minnie Driver, Virginia Madsen, Forest Whitaker, and Kip Pardue.
Joanna’s modeling campaigns include Sketchers (with Christina Aguilera); Physicians Formula, SportMax, Freya, Yamaha, ATandT, Guess, Vintage Chic, Felina, Dior, Bauer, Millington, Beachbunny Swimwear and Frederick’s.
With hearts pounding and glasses steamed up, we navigated our way through the small puddles of drool that seem to surround her wherever she goes, and risked cardiac arrest to bring you this interview.
Music was playing in the background so the two of us were face to face with a recorder capturing our voices. Unfortunately for those of you reading, you can’t quite capture the essence or hear the laughter, but just perhaps between the interview below, you’ll catch a glimpse at what makes her so charming.
BN: I spoke with your agents and you won’t believe what they said about you. They said you’re sexy and you’re innocent.
JK: I am? (Laughs).
BN: And it’s an unusual combination in this business. So what do you attribute your success to?
JK: I don’t know, I think it just comes from my background. I do what I do. I do make sexy pictures. I take sexy pictures and I do sometimes have to wear sexy outfits, but I think I still have that little girl inside of me.
BN: You do, I saw you tugging at your outfit.
JK: (Laughs), yeah it's not really something I would normally choose to wear.
BN: How does it feel to be called the Sexiest Woman in the World?
JK: It's very flattering, but I mean I don't really get caught up with that stuff. I definitely don’t see myself that way.
BN: How have your family and friends reacted to your sexy image and the attention that you get?
JK: My dad, you know, he doesn't really comment much about it. My sisters are very proud of me. My family and my friends know who I am, they know what kind of person I am, so just because I do, you know, sexy pictures, doesn't mean that I walk around in sexy outfits every day. I'm just a normal, everyday girl.
BN: Do you have a regular beauty regimen?
JK: I just do the basics. Just pink and white on the nails. Facials once in a blue moon and microdermabrasion once a year. I use a moisturizer (Pathenol Protein Moisturizing face cream) that contains protein, Vitamins A and E and beta-carotine. It’s not that expensive and it moisturizes my face better than the really expensive stuff. I use it both for day and night. I always use sunscreen. For my hair I use volumizing shampoo. I had my teeth whitened three years ago and should probably do it again. I’m pretty low maintenance, actually.

BN: You have the prettiest eyes. What color are they?
JK: Thank you. I think they change colors. I don’t know if it has to do anything with mood or what but they’re blue, green sometimes grey.
BN: I don’t think I’ve ever seen eyes that color. They’re beautiful.
JK: Thank you sweetheart. You’re adorable.
BN: How do you like LA?
JK: I have a love-hate relationship with LA. It's hard there. It's took me a long time to find a core of friends there, particularly girlfriends. I just don't really let people in easily. Even in school I only had few girlfriends and now I only have a few close girlfriends, most of my friends are guys.
BN: How do you deal with Hollywood B.S.?
JK: There are just so many people out there that, are willing to sleep there way up and do anything to get whatever they want, to get as much fame as they can and it's just not me. I don't know how they can do it because I know if it was me I just wouldn't feel like myself. I would feel disrespected and I would feel disgusting with myself.
BN: Are there actresses and actors who are currently big stars that slept their way
to the top?
JK: Oh, for sure! I've heard so many stories. It's so sick. It's really sick.
BN: Can you give us some names?
JK: No, I'm not going to mention names and get myself killed (Laughs).

BN: Do you have a nickname?
JK: Some of my friends call me JoJo and my ex-boyfriend calls me Boo Boo.
BN: That’s way too fluffy. You need a fearsome nickname like “Krupa The Destroyer.”
JK: (Laughs) Yeah.
BN: What do you have coming up?
JK: I just shot the PETA anti-fur campaign. I'm going to be shooting another international campaign. I have a huge Dior & Dollhouse campaign coming out. And I have some scripts that I'm reading.
BN: The Pre-Oscar Bash. This last year there were 2 hosts and now, you’re going to be hosting it by yourself, does that make you a little nervous?
JK: It does because it’s such a huge event. With millions of people, it’s broadcast in over 80 countries. It’s going to be a lot of work and a lot of pressure.
BN: Have you ever been starstruck?
JK: You know what? I don't really, being around LA most of my life, I really don't get starstruck anymore. I don't think I've ever been starstruck because everybody's a person, we all come and go the same way. It's just a business that we chose to be in -- just because you're famous doesn't mean you have to be treated any better.
