  • Caprice pleads guilty to drink-driving

Caprice today pleaded guilty to a drink-driving offence.

The model was arrested in London last December, and admitted she was over the legal limit when she was stopped.

But her lawyer, Nick Freeman, claims that there were "special" circumstances which led to the incident, namely that she took an anti-histamine before she began drinking: "It was a consequence of something that she imbibed...that the offence took place," said the solicitor, dubbed by many as "Mr Loophole".

He added: "It's the extra additional matter that she took by way of medication which is the special reason."

  • McPartlin eases wedding nerves with golf

Ant McPartlin has eased his pre-wedding nerves with a game of golf.

The I'm A Celebrity star marries long-term lover Lisa Armstrong today - but he had to be calmed down by his friends yesterday as the stress finally took its toll.

Showbiz partner Declan Donnelly, singer Robbie Williams and TV presenter Jonathan Wilkes hit the golf course with the star at Cliveden House in Berkshire, where the reception takes place today.

An onlooker said, "Ant was really smiley but very nervous. It was Jonathan who suggested they play golf to ease his nerves."

Although McPartlin has splashed out £80,000 in total for the wedding, it will not be covered by any magazines as the happy couple have decided that the day should focus on their family and close friends.

  • MTV super boy band

Five former boyband members have come together to form a new "ultimate boyband" with the hopes of staging a triumphant return to the charts.

The group is being put together for a new TV series, Totally Boyband, which airs on MTV from September 17.

The hopefuls in the as-yet untitled five-piece are Another Level's Dane Bowers, age 26; Jimmy Constable of 911, 34; Steps star Lee Latchford Evans, 31; S Club 7's Bradley McIntosh, 24; and 37-year-old Danny Wood of pioneering boyband New Kids On The Block.

The band, who will be managed by Charlotte Church's mentor Jonathan Shalit, met for the first time at a press conference this morning. All claimed to be excited at the prospect of staging a comeback, although Wood was more realistic about their chances. "If it doesn't work out I can just go home," he said, having admitted that he had "no idea" who his new bandmates were.

Cameras will now follow the boys as they write and record their first single, due for release on October 23.

The video will be filmed in Australia and will feature the band alongside Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Wee Man, Preston Lacey and Dave England indulging in trademark stomach-churning feats.

Directing will be The Malloys, who in the past have worked with The White Stripes, The Shins and Metallica.

  • Bon Jovi goes country

Rocker Jon Bon Jovi plans to surprise fans by moving into country music by recording an album in Nashville, Tennessee.

The 44-year-old singer and his bandmate Richie Sambora are expected to record the disc with veteran country musicians.

"The change is in the music - it's time for change. 'Keep The Faith' was why we stayed relevant in the '90s. In 2000, we changed again when we did 'It's My Life'. That's when a new generation discovered us."

"We didn't plan any of that, it just happened. I can smell change coming again. I'm thinking of a Nashville sessions record. I'd like to knock out a quick record with a few country writers and artists and me and Richie. I'd like to get two or three artists to do duets with. I'd like to give a couple of Nashville songwriters a chance to shine, and Richie and I would write a few songs to prove we could hold our own with these guys," he added.

The singer made history by becoming the first rock band to top the US country chart earlier this year with his award-winning duet with Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles, "Who Says You Can't Go Home."

  • Cameron looks like Zippy, says Robbie

Robbie Williams says he'd fancied Cameron Diaz for ages - but when he met her he thought she looked like Zippy from Rainbow.

The pop star talks about how his crush for the film star ended when he spotted the resemblance to the mouthy character from the 70s children's TV show.

Robbie says: "She looks a bit like Zippy. Crush is over. I can get on with the rest of my life."
The pair bumped into each other in Berlin last year and went go-karting together.

  • Eddie Murphy To Marry Spice Girl

Eddie Murphy and former Spice Girl Mel B are reportedly set to wed in September. The couple - who met at a party in Beverly Hills last month - have reportedly booked the plush Roosevelt Hotel, in Los Angeles, for their "dream wedding". Mel, 31, and Murphy - who is 14 years her senior - are reportedly planning to tie the knot in an intimate ceremony attended by just close family and friends.

However, the pair have drawn up a star-studded guest list, which includes Whitney Houston and British actor Max Beesley, for their wedding party. A source said: "Mel just wants her and Eddie's close family to be there for the simple blessing. But they will be inviting their friends to a lavish wedding breakfast reception at the venue afterwards."

Both Mel and the Shrek star have been married before. Murphy divorced his wife Nicole Mitchell Murphy - who he has five children with - in May after 12 years of marriage. Mel - better known as Scary Spice during her time in the Spice Girls - married dancer Jimmy Gulzar in 1998 but the couple got divorced three years later. They have a seven-year-old daughter Phoenix-Chi.

  • Hayden Christensen Storms Off Set

Hayden Christensen, Sienna Miller and Jude Law are in town for Factory Girl reshoots and things are decidedly tense. According to sources, Sienna was extremely uncomfortable about having her current lover and her former lover in the same place at the same time. So she goes off the professional deep end.

Erratic behaviour, chain smoking, unable to remember her lines, alternating between screaming obnoxiously at any one who would listen and cackling like a crazed lunatic - needless to say, their scenes together were a disaster. As frustration mounted, as crew members and production staff became more and more irritated by Sienna’s unprofessional behaviour, Hayden apparently decided he had had enough. He approached the director, he said he was furious that his time was being wasted by a two bit slut who couldn’t hold her sh*t together, and he “demanded to be excused from the set” - Hollywood speak for “storming off.”

Funnily enough, he actually gained a few new fans among the crew for finally giving her the balls - especially since, up to that point, no one had ever called Sienna out on her ongoing drama. Although Hayden returned the next day to complete his scenes, word is the new footage is practically unusable, not only for what Sienna completed with Hayden but for almost everything that was re-shot over the last week… in other words – a complete waste of time, gaining Sienna a brand new “difficult” reputation to go along with her existing trampy one. So does it surprise you that no one wants to work with her again?

  • Colin Farrell Confronted On 'Tonight Show' Stage

Access Hollywood breaks the news that Colin Farrell was surprisingly confronted on stage as he appeared on NBC's "The Tonight Show" by a woman who sued him for harassment.

Dessarae Bradford, alleged in a small-claims lawsuit that Farrell stalked her with inappropriate calls and text messages, but her lawsuit against Farrell was dismissed.

On Thursday, Bradford was a studio audience guest at "The Tonight Show" and surprisingly confronted him walking up to him on the stage. According to other audience members, Bradford left a copy of her self-published book.

According to a studio audience guest, Farrell calmly walked Bradford off stage and then, as she was escorted off the set, she shouted, "I'll see you in court" and Farrell retorted, "You're insane."

When asked about the incident by Access Hollywood's Billy Bush at this evening's Los Angeles "Miami Vice" premiere, Farrell replied, "I don't know. I don't know."

Sergeant Gunn of the Burbank Police Department told Access, she was "identified" and advised not to return to NBC property. Gunn added that she was detained by the police, but not officially taken into custody.

  • Mindy McDrinky in Court Again

Singer Mindy McCready testified Tuesday that she thought police pulled her over to "give her a hard time" — not because they thought she was driving under the influence.

She said she used to live in the area where she was stopped and knew some of the officers well.

"Way back when — when I used to have hit records 10 years ago — I would get pulled over a lot and had officers ask me to do the strangest things. Once an officer asked me to dance for his camera," she told jurors.

The DUI case centers on a video of the field sobriety tests McCready took after she was stopped for speeding in May 2005.

McCready, 30, refused to take a breath test, but the arresting officers said she smelled of alcohol, had watery bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on her feet. They said she acknowledged she had been at a night club where she had a couple of drinks.

Her attorney, Lee Dryer, said the singer was not impaired and that the field sobriety tests were not performed properly. He also said she removed her shoes for the roadside test, but then found it hard to complete because her pant legs were too long and rocks were hurting her feet.

Besides DUI, the singer also is charged with driving on a suspended license.

McCready, who had a No. 1 hit in 1996 with "Guys Do It All the Time," has struggled in recent years, beginning with a 2004 conviction for fraudulently obtaining prescription painkillers.

Two days after her DUI arrest she was injured in a beating by her former boyfriend, William McKnight, who pleaded guilty to domestic assault and was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail.

McCready has since sued McKnight over the beating and given birth to his child.

After the DUI case is over she faces a hearing on charges of violating her probation on the drug charge by failing to check in with her probation officer and leaving the state without permission to go to Florida.

Criminal charges in Arizona that her lawyer said stemmed from her efforts to help catch a con artist were dismissed last year.

  • Naomi Campbell arrested in London

Naomi Campbell was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning after reportedly screaming at her ex-boyfriend Badr Jafar outside his London home.

The 36-year-old, who has just separated from Arab prince Jafar, arrived at his exclusive Belgravia property at 3:30am to pick up some of her belongings.

And, when he refused to let her in, Campbell allegedly began shouting so loud she woke up his neighbors, who called police.

Cops arrested Campbell for breach of the peace, before driving her to a nearby road and she was later freed once she had calmed down. They then returned to Jafar's house to collect her belongings.

Last weekend, Campbell made the headlines when she reportedly caused $54,000 worth of damage to Jafar's yacht following an argument with an Italian chef.

She is also currently fighting three lawsuits, all filed by former employees who claim the supermodel assaulted them.

  • Beyonce & Tina Sued For 1.5 Million

Beyonce Knowles and her mother, Tina Knowles, have been sued for $1.5 million by a former business associate who claims they neglected to compensate him for securing a deal involving their House of Dereon clothing line.

Greg Walker, CEO of Icon Entertainment, filed the breach of contract lawsuit Wednesday in New York State's Supreme Court. He said the mother-daughter duo, who design the street-chic collection, hired him in August 2003 to help land endorsement and licensing opportunities.

According to Walker, he brokered a $15 million deal for the 24-year-old singer and her mother to create the clothing line with Wear Me Apparel, Corp., a clothing manufacturer. So far, he claims he's collected only $25,000 from Knowles' mother.

"Beyonce and Tina Knowles agreed on the terms of our business relationship, but have failed to properly compensate me for reasons unknown to me," Walker said in a statement. "I just want to receive my fair share and move on with my business."

When contacted by The Associated Press, a spokesman for House of Dereon declined to comment on the lawsuit.

Walker is also suing Wear Me Apparel for neglecting to pay the remainder of his fee. The company has paid him $85,000, he claims.

Corey Silverstein, the Wear Me Apparel's executive vice president, declined to comment.

  • Osment doing okay after car crash

Haley Joel Osment fractured a rib and hurt his shoulder in a car crash early Thursday, his doctor said.

The 18-year-old actor was in good condition and expected to make a complete recovery, said Dr. Paul Gilbert, an orthopedic surgeon at Huntington Hospital. He said Osment would remain hospitalized at least through Friday.

Osment, nominated for an Academy Award for "The Sixth Sense," was driving a 1995 Saturn about 1 a.m. when he crashed into a mailbox on a brick base and flipped over, Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Greg Sisneros said.

Osment, who was awake and talking immediately after the crash in La Canada Flintridge, was alone in the car and headed for his Los Angeles home when the crash occurred, Sisneros said.

When asked if blood was taken for an alcohol test, Gilbert said, "I'm sure blood samples were taken but I don't have a comment on that."

"He's pretty uncomfortable and resting. He just wants to let everyone know he's going to be OK," Gilbert said.

Osment is set to appear in the upcoming "Home of the Giants." In the film, he plays a high school journalist covering a basketball team as it heads toward the state championship.

La Canada Flintridge is about 14 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles.

  • Britney & Kevin Record Duets

BRITNEY SPEARS and her husband KEVIN FEDERLINE's love knows no bounds in the studio - they've just recorded a series of duets during a marathon singing session. Federline hopes the collaborations will eventually kill tabloid reports the pair is set to split. The dancer/rapper is so impressed with one of the duets he has selected it to feature on his debut album PLAYING WITH FIRE, but he won't divulge its title. He tells USA Today, "It's not really a love song. It gives my point of view on how my family is and how tight my family is. "

  • JC Chasez & Timberlake are Back 'NSync

J.C. Chasez has enlisted the help of former 'NSync bandmate Justin Timberlake for two tracks on the follow-up to his 2004 album 'Schizophrenic.'

The boys reunited to co-write and produce 'God Bless America' and 'Until Yesterday,' the first single from Chasez's upcoming effort. "We had a lot of fun," Chasez says. "'Until Yesterday' is a lot of Beatles-meet-Freddy Mercury. That guy was so operatic and entertaining, and the song is a soap opera."

Though the former boy-banders both release their new records later this year, Chasez says it didn't put them off collaborating. "The records are two different worlds. They really are," he says. "We're not competing in any way, shape or form.

"It's hard for people to imagine. But we have two very different stories to tell, and we had a lot going on in our lives the last four or five years that we've been apart. You really can't play one record on my album that sounds like any one of his records."

Other producers on the record include Dallas Austin and Nelly Furtado's recent duet partner Timbaland. Chasez says listeners will be surprised at his new direction.

"Everything I've been working on is mainly guitar-based," he says.

Earlier this week jet-setting Michael, 61, and Catherine, 36, were in Majorca to promote his new movie The Sentinel.
