But Patrick, 35, who is single, has had no luck, admitting: "I have feelings but Fearne's not interested. I feel like Lee Otway. I've even drilled a hole to the next room."

An industry insider said, "Justin's gig at the House of Blues was packed with Hollywood A-listers and a lot of important names in music.

"The last thing his label wanted was Lindsay getting drunk and making a spectacle of herself, taking attention away from Justin and his new album.

The pair dined out together in Los Angeles this week and, although Madden introduced her to photographers as a friend, pals insists they have been an item for some time -- one dismissing the age gap to Page Six, "It's no big deal -- she turns 18 next month."

  • Manilow pulls final vegas show

The 60-year-old singer has a four-year contract with the hotel, but his high-octane concerts have taken their toll on his aging joints, and he has suffered from labrum tears in his hips as a result.

Publicist Carol Marshall released a statement claiming that despite Manilow's optimistic announcement earlier this month that he would carry on performing until his performance at the Emmy Awards on August 27 before undergoing an operation, he admitted on Wednesday that he was simply in too much pain to continue.

"I love her single and the way she wears trainers and gorgeous dresses. It's about time we had a really cool British girl out there on the music scene."

Unimpressed by the reaction to the track, Lily has now pointed out that her lyrics were not intended to be taken seriously.

She said: "I don't want to look like Cheryl Tweedy! It's tongue in cheek, it's meant to be ironic."
