Yoko Ono, the wife of Beatles legend John Lennon, has sued two music companies for $10 million, claiming that they have denied her royalties.
The claim, filed in Manhattan's Supreme Court, accuses EMI and Capitol Records of "willfully and knowingly under-reporting royalties".
The papers also claim that EMI and Capitol hid the "true use and disposition of Lennon's recordings" whilst "intentionally and systematically rendering dishonest and grossly deficient accounting statements".
Although refusing to comment specifically on the Ono case, EMI and Capitol lawyer Jeanne Myer said that there are "sometimes differences of opinion" on royalties.
