  • Vince Vaughn Films Documentary in Ireland

Vince Vaughn was in Belfast, Ireland this weekend to film a documentary. Vince, 36, interviewed two Northern Ireland politicians, Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams and loyalist politician David Ervine.

One onlooker said: “You know what it’s like. People see camera crews and they’re immediately intrigued. People heard he was filming on the Falls Road yesterday and then they saw him with Gerry Adams. Vince Vaughn was really friendly, really open. He talked to the locals, signed autographs and had a bit of craic with them. He seemed really interested in the murals.”

David Ervine said of the interview: “We did a spot of filming in Dee Street around a mural depicting people coming to the shipyards. I was explaining to him that years ago we would not have a mural like this because it would all have been about politics and our divisions. I told him that, for me, the mural was the epitome of the change process that is going on in Northern Ireland. The murals are changing. He was taking a break from shooting a film in London with Kevin Spacey to do this documentary and came over for this weekend. There’s no question he’s genuinely interested in the subject. He was telling me his interest was sparked on a previous visit when he took a black taxi tour from the Europa Hotel. He knew nothing about the murals before that trip. I have to say it was really interesting meeting him.”

  • Evan on Earth

On the television show “Once and Again,” you played a teenager struggling with anorexia. Was that difficult? It broke my heart when they told me that my character had an eating disorder. I was really insecure because I was so skinny. I never had an eating disorder, but I was 13 and a late bloomer. Back then, I wanted to wear bright colors and makeup, but the producers felt that was wrong for the character. I hated all of my wardrobe. Those were really awkward years. But I saw the point: it was important to show a person like that on TV.

And you had a love scene with Mischa Barton. Yes — we kissed. She was nice. It’s funny, when I was a kid, I would audition for roles, and I’d see the same people all the time. It’s like being in the same class at school. I’d make friends with girls, and then their moms would tell them never to talk to me, that it would hurt their sense of competition. That was a little hard.

Evan Rachel Wood is featured in the Beauty Fall 2006 issue of T, New York Times’ Style Magazine.

  • Another rapper in trouble with the law

Prosecutors are considering charges against Snoop Dogg after authorities discovered a 21-inch collapsible baton in his bags as he boarded a New York-bound flight, authorities said Monday.

The rapper, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, had the baton in his laptop case as he went through a security checkpoint at John Wayne International Airport on Sept. 27, sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said.

Snoop Dogg, 35, told sheriff's deputies that the baton was a prop for a movie he was filming in New York, Amormino said.

"He had a collapsible baton and it is classified as a dangerous weapon," Amormino said, adding that the stick collapsed to eight inches.

District attorney spokeswoman Susan Kang Schroeder said her office received the sheriff's report on Monday. She said prosecutors had not yet decided whether to charge Snoop Dogg, who was not arrested.

It wasn't the first time the rapper has had a problem at an airport.

In May, he accepted responsibility for using "threatening words or behavior" in an April brawl at Heathrow Airport in London. Snoop Dogg and five other men were arrested on charges of violent disorder and starting a brawl after some members of the rapper's party were denied entry to British Airways' first-class lounge.

Seven officers received minor injuries — mainly cuts and bruises — and one suffered a fracture to the hand.

British Airways has banned Snoop Dogg from future travel on the airline, it said last month.

Snoop Dogg was convicted in 1990 of cocaine possession and was charged with gun possession after a 1993 traffic stop. Facing a possible three years in prison, he pleaded guilty in exchange for three years' probation and his promise to make anti-violence public service announcements.

He also was acquitted of murder in 1996 following the death of an alleged street gang member killed by gunfire from the vehicle Snoop Dogg was traveling in.
