Sheen Says He's Glad Richards Is Dating Sambora

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 15:48:03

In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing Monday, Charlie Sheen talks about working things out with his estranged wife, Denise Richards, for the sake of their kids – and says he's happy he knows her new boyfriend, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora.

Asked by DeGeneres how things are going with Richards, 35, Sheen, 40, says, "We're trying to put all that nonsense aside and just do what's right for the children and just be good responsible parents."

Richards and Sheen formerly lived in the same Southern California neighborhood as Sambora and his then-wife, Heather Locklear.

Richards and Locklear, who filed for divorce from Sambora in February, were previously pals, but Richards has said their friendship had already ended before she and Sambora began dating in February.

Inside Shanna Moakler's Las Vegas Divorce Party

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 15:44:48

Shanna Moakler made the best of her split from Travis Barker on Friday with a divorce party at the Las Vegas nightclub Light at the Bellagio.

"I've been to past friends' divorce parties so I'm not the first person (to have one)," she says. "I'm not groundbreaking or anything. I'm really doing it for myself to have closure and celebrate being single again and start a new chapter in my life."

The former Meet The Barkers star and Dancing with the Stars contestant hung out with a group of girlfriends all night, moving to various tables all around the club to get different perspectives.

Finally settling on a corner booth, Moakler joined an existing party's table to hang for the night. Wearing a short black dress, she was clearly having a good time as she drank vodka and did shots with her newfound friends.

The highlight of the evening came at dinner, when the Ballagio's Fix restaurant brought out a "divorce cake" for Moakler. The three-tiered cake featured a miniature knife-wielding blonde in a wedding dress on top, with a trail blood leading to a tiny groom sprawled at the bottom.

On hosting the oddly themed bash, Moakler says, "I don't have any regrets about doing it. I am who I am and I make my own decisions. I totally respect people's opinions. I never thought I would be getting a divorce. I never thought I'd be here. At the end of the day, this isn't the worst thing in my life. People go through it every day. I respect people's opinions, but this is my opinion. This is how I'm showing the world that divorce is okay. I doesn't have to be the end of your life."

Barker, 30, the former drummer for blink-182, filed for divorce from Moakler, 31, in August.

Which randy rocker favoured the red lights over the limelight at the MTV Awards in Copenhagen? The scamp slipped away from the star-studded shindig to enjoy the alternative sights the city has to offer. But his face was left as red as the district he was in when he was left with an itchy reminder of his exploits.

Simon fumes as Ashley cut from 'X Factor'

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 15:24:33

Simon Cowell lost the first of his four X Factor acts tonight as Ashley McKenzie was eliminated from the competition.

20-year-old Ashley was joined in the final showdown by Sharon's act Robert Allen, 27, ensuring that the ultimate decision lay with Louis.

Despite receiving earlier lashings from the judges, both Nikitta Angus and The MacDonald Brothers made it through automatically on the public vote.

Ironically, Ashley's swansong was the ABBA classic 'The Winner Takes It All'. Louis had criticised him for having "no conviction or passion" in his performance, while Sharon hit out at Simon for doing Ashley a "disservice" with the song choice.

"I'm fine, I've been privileged to have gone through this experience," said Ashley after being eliminated, before accusing Louis of deliberately getting rid of "the strongest competition".

Simon, meanwhile, was so furious at Louis' decision that he refused to appear alongside him on spinoff show The Xtra Factor.

Colin Farrell Offered Kubrick Role

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 15:21:33

Three new movies by legendary screenwriter STANLEY KUBRICK are being brought to the big screen - seven years after his death. Kubrick, whose ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: AI was posthumously adapted from notes and drafts by STEVEN SPIELBERG in 2001, died in 1999 - but he left behind a treasure trove of film writings which are now being resurrected by film-makers.

Among the papers was an 80 page outline for LUNATIC AT LARGE, a thriller charting an axe murderer who escapes from an asylum. The lead role has already been offered to Irish star COLIN FARRELL.

Two other movies are also in the pipeline. Kubrick's widow CHRISTIANE says, "Stanley threw a lot of things away. These weren't among them, so he really liked these three projects. "I remember reading them at the time .He was very excited about Lunatic but then other things happened... the stories were packed and then we moved to England (in 1961) to do LOLITA here."

Sex Is Still On

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 15:19:27

The feature film version of SEX AND THE CITY is back on track after negotiations with the series' four leading ladies made significant progress this week. Stars SARAH JESSICA PARKER, KRISTIN DAVIS, KIM CATTRALL and CYNTHIA NIXON were set to star in the big screen version of the hit show before the project collapsed. US reports exclusively that a studio source has confirmed that the long-postponed project is closer to becoming a reality after "substantial negotiations have opened with each of the stars' teams this week". According to the studio insider, "Obviously, there is still a lot to be worked out contractually, but it would be amazing to get this project off the ground. "There is no doubt that fans cannot wait to see them all reunited." Rumours have circulated since the show ended in 2004 that the project was unable to get off the ground because of behind-the-scenes drama between the actresses. KIM CATTRALL reportedly refused to appear in the feature film, which reportedly doomed the project. According to sources, enough time has passed and the stars are willing to put their differences aside and move forward with the highly anticipated project.

Martha Stewart called out Rachael Ray yesterday for moving up her pre-recorded show with Barry Manilow to air at the same time Stewart had him on live. “It’s not fair to the artist because these performers deserve to reach as big of an audience as possible. But anyway, we have him here. Live.”

Romeo Beckham has epilepsy

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 15:14:25

VICTORIA Beckham has confessed that her son Romeo is battling epilepsy, the News of the World can reveal.

Posh and Becks were "devastated" when specialists confirmed that their four-year-old middle child has the brain condition which causes violent fits.

Sufferers can die during an attack and many have to take medication for the rest of their lives.

Posh has revealed that she and David are now terrified flash photos will spark an epileptic fit that could kill him.

The world's most-photographed celebrity family are desperate to protect little Romeo from fans and paparazzi eager to get a snap.

The lad, who turned four just five weeks ago, has been warned to avoid flashing lights known to cause potentially-fatal seizures.

The frightened youngster reacted violently after being photographed at Heathrow last Saturday as he returned to Britain from Madrid with Posh and brothers Brooklyn, seven, and Cruz, one.

Initially he shielded his eyes against the flashes as his mother pushed him through the terminal building in his buggy and out to a waiting car.

He then started screaming in terror and lashing out with his legs as one photographer pressed his camera inside the car and started flashing.

Only then did horrified Posh, 32, reveal the truth about brave Romeo's dangerous condition.

She pulled her blond-headed son to her, shielded him from the lights and yelled: "Leave him alone.

"He's got epilepsy. All that flashing will start an epileptic fit. You can't do that!"

Busta Rhymes Busted

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 15:12:02

Trouble has found Busta Rhymes again. The rapper, who's had other run-ins with the law, was caught talking on his cell phone while driving past a Manhattan police station, police said Friday.

Rhymes, whose legal name is Trevor Smith, was cruising past the a police station about 7 p.m. Thursday when police allegedly spotted him on the cell phone.

He was pulled over and issued a summons for the moving violation. His management office declined to comment Friday.

Last month, the best-selling rap star appeared in court on an assault charge for allegedly attacking a man who spit on his car in August. He is due back in court in that case on Dec. 11.

In another case involving the unsolved shooting death of his bodyguard Israel Ramirez in February, Rhymes has refused to be questioned by police as a potential witness. Police say Rhymes, 34, has made no effort to help identify the killer. The shooting occurred outside a music video taping in Brooklyn.

The rapper's most recent album was the "The Big Bang," released earlier this year, featuring the hit "Touch It." Rhymes has had a stream of hits throughout his career, which spans more than a decade, including "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See" and "Dangerous." He's also been in films, including 2000's "Shaft."

Angelina Jolie’s External Affairs

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 15:10:12

UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie shook hands earlier this morning with India’s Junior Minister for External Affairs, Anand Sharma in New Delhi, India. During the press conference, Angelina lauded India’s help to the refugees: “The wonderful thing that I have learned since I have been in India is there are many, many needs for your own people and yet you have all been so gracious and been so open to so many refugees over the years. I have also since I have been here spent time with Indian people and we spoke about concerns for disabled people, children and orphans.”

Angelina has been on a two-day visit to the Indian capital, listening to Sikh children playing religious music at the Khalsa Diwan Welfare Society in New Delhi, an organization run by Afghan refugees of the Sikh faith for other refugees. She chatted with students - some of the 9,500 Afghan refugees under the direct care of the UN refugee agency in India — about their passion for learning English and computer skills.

Angelina made time to talk with a refugee woman from Myanmar in the one-room home she shares with her three children in New Delhi. The woman, one of the 1,750 refugees from Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) under the care of UNHCR in India, told Jolie that they had fled after her husband was arrested by Burma’s military government.

It’s also rumored that Brad Pitt is in the market for the Kaufman House in Palm Springs, CA, built by modernism’s most important architects, Richard Neutra. It is privately owned and Brad put in a bid. Obviously, a very important house architecturally.

Paris & Nicole’s Confidential Party

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 15:04:56

On-off-on-again BFFs Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton were spotted at Lara Shriftman’s “Party Confidential” Book Launch this past Thursday night at a private residence in LA.

According to her publicist, Nicole “is working with a team of doctors and specialists whose focus is nutrition. She also has decided to undergo diagnostic treatment to determine why she’s not been putting on any weight.

It is important to Nicole that she achieves this goal in a healthy way as this is not a treatment for an eating disorder.”

Nicole’s dad, Lionel Richie was the one who urged Nicole to seek help but said, “She’s gonna be fine. She’s worrying me to death, but she’s gonna be okay.”

Nicole says: “I’m not in rehab and I don’t have an eating disorder. I’m getting the help I need and taking care of my health.”

Federline announces autobiography

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 14:59:32

Kevin Federline has announced that he is planning to write an autobiography.

The dancer-cum-rapper wants to let the public know about his life before his marriage to Britney Spears - but won't include any content relating to the couple's up-down relationship.

Federline told the New York Post: "The book is definite. It will be a biography of my life until I met my wife, so people will better understand who I am."

However, he admitted he hadn't started work on the project, and wouldn't be doing the writing on his own: "I haven't done it yet. You know, I'll get a ghostwriter in there," he added.

Warne's caged love

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 14:45:57

THE relationship between spin king Shane Warne and his ex-maiden Simone Callaghan appears to have a few innings in it yet, with the former couple spending intimate time together in Flemington's famous Birdcage on Derby Day.

Contrary to reports suggesting the pair were unaware of each other's presence, Confidential can reveal the Test champion and his ex arrived and left the A-list arena together – and were never far apart in between.

Warney and Simone's Flemington flutter was the buzz of the Birdcage – particularly in the Andrew McManus Presents marquee – with one source close to Callaghan revealing the couple are "playing it day by day" in defiance of public scrutiny.

"There's still a lot of affection there. Far from being cold, they are loving and warm with each other," the insider said.

MEGAN Gale doesn't settle for second best, inviting Cleo Bachelor of the Year Andy Lee out for a post-races dinner after the pair hit it off at Flemington.

Gale, who recently confirmed her split from Sydney model Josh Clapp, was spotted in animated conversation with Lee at the Emirates marquee late on Derby Day and left the track with the radio star and an entourage including his comic partner Hamish Blake.

JAMES Packer and girlfriend Erica Baxter toasted their Derby Day winnings on Efficient at a private party at Crown Casino.

The media baron and his pop star babe again refused to answer questions about the obviously rekindled relationship, but were seen all day holding hands in a way reminiscent of John and Janette Howard.

The couple invited visiting celeb Kate Bosworth to their post-race bash – but she was holed up in her hotel suite ahead of her flight back to New York yesterday.

Eminem to come out of retirement

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 14:42:15

Eminem has decided to come out of retirement and release a new album.

The rapper took a break from the music business after getting "bored" last year, but R&B singer Akon has revealed that he is ready to start sharing his music again.

"Eminem told me he was getting bored with everything, which is why he took a break. But he's back working on an album and I've got some records ready for him to use on it," Akon revealed.

"I know him through Obie Trice and we've talked about doing something together for so long, but our schedules made it impossible. It was our chemistry that got him out of retirement."

Charity bidders snub Elle MacPherson

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 14:33:22

Elle MacPherson failed to attract a single bid after offering herself up for auction at a charity event.

The Australian model was attending the Riders For Charity bash in London, where one party-goer paid £3,000 for her leather jacket, but the prospect of a date with the blonde failed to attract any interest.

One guest said: "When Elle put herself up for auction a buzz went round the room. But when the host asked for the first bid the room fell silent. I don't know if the men were a bit intimidated by Elle's looks but it was a bit embarrassing.

"Elle took it all in good humour though and cracked a joke about it. Those who could afford her must have been mad."

Tarrant insists affair meant nothing

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 14:31:22

Chris Tarrant has insisted that his seven-year affair meant nothing to him.

The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host has admitted that his wife Ingrid refuses to forgive him after learning about his secret relationship with teacher Fiona McKechnie - but he still hopes that she will take him back.

"I know this will be hard for most people to understand but [Fiona] didn't mean anything to me," he told the News of the World. "It was nothing and I mean that. It wasn't a big thing, it's over and I regret it and that's the end of it. Everyone has said it started ten years ago - but actually it was only seven."

"I wish the old girl could forgive me and we could get back together but she doesn't seem to be budging," he continued. "I still love her. We used to have a great life together and a real laugh. We were a great couple and a team - but I can't get through to her.

Coxon to make Blur return

by lawsonjeff @ 2006-11-05 - 14:28:00

Blur bassist Alex James has revealed the band would welcome a return from Graham Coxon.

Guitarist Coxon left the band three years ago to pursue a solo career, but James now thinks there is a chance of the original line-up reuniting to record an album.

"I've got high hopes that Blur will have a happy four-piece ending," he told the BBC. "I think it would be a shame if it didn't really. I think we'd all like to make another record. We'd all like to do it with Graham. I've been talking to Graham a bit and hopefully I can persuade him. I'm going to have to beg him though."

James added that the band will continue to make music regardless, however. "One way or another, there'll be another Blur album, with or without Graham - but hopefully with Graham."
