The two have previously worked together on "Gangs of New York" and "The Aviator."

Based on the prize-winning book by Edmund Morris, "The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt" follows the emergence of Theodore Roosevelt from a privileged politician to the leader of the Rough Riders and onto the U.S. presidency.

Scorsese, DiCaprio, Daniella Taplin, and Brad Simpson will produce the film. "The Human Stain" screenwriter Nicholas Meyer is working on the script.

Our source says Storch, who has reportedly earned more than $70 million as a music producer, gave Lohan $1 million worth of diamond jewelry as a gift. Brad Pitt Filming in the Caribbean

by lawsonjeff @ 2007-01-04 - 09:53:22

Brad Pitt (dressed in a Lacoste polo) and Cate Blanchett were spotted filming scenes earlier today in the Caribbean for their new film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

As Brad’s character (Benjamin Button) regains his youth, Cate’s character (Daisy) grows older. The movie’s million dollar question: Will their love continue to grow? (I also wonder how young Brad’s character will get in the film.)

Brad, 43, and Cate, 37, were also seen taking a lunch break after filming a few scenes on a sailboat named “BUTTON UP.” Below the boat name is “NEW ORLEANS.” The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is directed by David Fincher (Panic Room, Fight Club, Se7en) and is set for a release between Christmas 2007 and May 2008.

On Dec. 23, Justin partied with friends at Senses nightclub in Memphis, where he reportedly said “Me and Cameron? We’re done… The breakup is for keeps!” Multiple news outlets are reporting the same thing. Official statements from Justin and Cameron’s reps have yet to be released.

Still Crazy in Love With Beyonce

by lawsonjeff @ 2007-01-04 - 09:46:06

Beyonce is GQ UK’s covergirl for their February 2007. It’s a shiny shiny photoshoot with Beyonce sporting some sort of silver chain/plating dress. Here are a few quotes that we can draw out:

“I feel like everybody is always expecting me to perform.”

“I need success because I feel like I was born for it.”

“On stage, I’m wild and aggressive and strong — I sing real strong, I dance real wild.”

Craig & Kidman Get Hot and Heavy in Bed

by lawsonjeff @ 2007-01-04 - 09:43:01

Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig take on the February 2007 issue of W Magazine. The A-listers connect twice this year on the big screen — The Invasion and His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass. Here’s an excerpt of Nicole and Daniel’s interview with W:

Daniel Craig can’t stand listening to Nicole Kidman. In fact, it’s so painful that he has stuck his fingers in his ears and is humming loudly to drown her out. Meanwhile, Kidman is happily responding to a question about whether the 38-year-old actor changed after landing his role as James Bond last year.

“Oh, completely,” deadpans Kidman, 39, who was with him, shooting one of their upcoming films, The Invasion, when he got the call. “In 24 hours he became a diva,” she adds, with a nod toward Craig, who continues to hum his tune as the pair sit in the cozy bar of a London photography studio, where they’re sharing a bottle of sparkling water. But then Kidman breaks down and tells the truth: “Oh, he didn’t change at all,” she says in her haute-Aussie twang. “The thing about Daniel, and the reason I like working with him, is that he’s an actor’s actor.”

Of course, Craig has heard the whole thing, and he seems far more alarmed by the compliment than by the faux insult. “How dare you!” he shouts, and they both giggle.

It is a chilly, slate gray autumn Saturday, and Kidman, who’s barefoot and still wearing a caffe latte–colored Dior gown from the fashion shoot, and Craig, in a navy blue cardigan more suited to Mister Rogers than Mr. Bond, are punchy after a long day posing under hot lights. On Monday they’ll return to the London set of The Golden Compass, a fantasy-adventure film based on the first book in Philip Pullman’s trilogy His Dark Materials. The movie, to be released later this year, is their second collaboration, the first being The Invasion, which is loosely based on Invasion of the Body Snatchers and is also due out in 2007.

Prison Break’s Day of Reckoning Coming

by lawsonjeff @ 2007-01-04 - 09:40:51

New Prison Break promo! Looks like Michael (Wentworth Miller) is unwillingly forced to call someone up. But TV Guide interrogated Paul Adelstein, aka Paul Kellerman, about his character’s big switch to the good side:

Agent Kellerman looks like he’s becoming a good guy. Is he? On Prison Break, what defines you as a good guy is if you’re on Michael and Lincoln’s side — which means Kellerman hasn’t been a good guy. But in his mind, he’s always tried to do the right thing for God and country. His turn, if that’s what it is, is born of the right instinct.

So we shouldn’t believe he’s changed? Part of the fun in the second half of the season is asking, “What is this guy’s motivation?” But it would be naive to the audience, given Kellerman’s history, to think that it’s a clear-cut path change.

Michael doesn’t know that Kellerman tortured Dr. Sara Tancredi. Is that going to come out? One of the interesting things about the show is the good guys are convicts and anybody who helps them is someone you sympathize with. If Michael and Lincoln don’t try to exact revenge on Kellerman, that may generate some sympathy for him. But as this fragile alliance is built, there is a day of reckoning coming.

Ed Norton Thrown Off Horse, Breaks Back

by lawsonjeff @ 2007-01-04 - 09:36:23

Edward Norton recently said he broke three vertebrae during a horse riding accident on the set of his new film The Painted Veil (movie stills below). The horse apparently threw him off while he was galloping before filming a scene for the movie.

Here’s what Ed said in a recent interview: “One of those horses chucked me off pretty badly. I broke my spine in like three places. I broke my back. I broke three vertebrae in my back. I felt like my back was horribly wrenched but I sort of assumed I was OK, and I didn’t actually find out I had broken it until I went to Hong Kong. I cracked my 10th, 11th and especially my 12th thoracic vertebrae.”

The Painted Veil tells the tale of a woman who becomes dissatisfied with her marriage, as her husband favors of his research over time with her. An affair leads her on a journey of self-discovery, and her new dedication to fighting cholera brings her to the Far East. The film is directed by John Curran, was shot entirely in China, and co-stars real-life couple Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts.

Julia Roberts Sperminated

by lawsonjeff @ 2007-01-04 - 09:28:41

Hazel and Finn will soon have to share their famous mom's attention: Julia Roberts is expecting her third child with husband Danny Moder.

Roberts is due this summer, her rep, Marcy Engelman, confirmed.

News of the pregnancy first appeared in the New York Post's Page Six column. Roberts, 39, and Moder, 37, were married in July 2002 and welcomed Hazel and Finn (short for Phinnaeus) in November 2004.

In May, Roberts told David Letterman of the twins: "They seem to really love each other. He's sort of very boyish and masculine. He has red hair and big green eyes. And she's very girlish and has very blonde hair and blue eyes. He likes blueberries. She likes her daddy."

After the twins were born, Roberts did voice work in two kid-friendly films, the animated Ant Bully and Charlotte's Web, out now. This spring, she made her Broadway debut in the drama Three Days of Rain.

In the fall, she was back to filming in earnest, arriving in Morocco in October to shoot the drama Charlie Wilson's War – with her 23-month-old twins and Moder in tow. She celebrated her 39th birthday at a local restaurant on Oct. 28 and was often seen sightseeing with her clan.

Clooney's New Year: A Date with Dorothy

by lawsonjeff @ 2007-01-04 - 09:24:48

George Clooney welcomed 2007 at home – in front of the TV.

"I watched The Wizard of Oz – a big tradition at my house," Clooney, 45, told Jay Leno on Tuesday's Tonight Show. He noted, though, it was the special edition of the film with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon as the soundtrack.

"I didn't do anything," he told Leno. "I went down south with a couple of my friends because we said, 'We're sick of Christmas.' "

In keeping with the theme, "Nobody put on Christmas songs and we didn't celebrate at all." But the atmosphere, he insisted, wasn't bah-humbug "at all and we had a nice time down there."

In lieu of gifts, "We put up a Web site for all our buddies, and just said, 'Everybody has all you want,' and said 'What's your favorite charity? We'll give to that.' "

He did honor one tradition, however: the New Year's resolution. "I quit smoking," he said, prompting the audience to burst into applause. "It was that or give up drinking, and I'm not going to do that."

Emilie de Ravin, who plays Claire Littleton on ABC's Lost, has separated from her husband after only six months of marriage, her publicist, Jeff Raymond, tells the Associated Press.

The Australian actress and actor Josh Janowicz, both 25, were married in Melbourne in June of last year.

It was a first marriage for both. They have no children.

An Australian native, de Ravin lived in Los Angeles with Janowicz and commuted to her TV show's set in Oahu, Hawaii.

Besides Lost, de Ravin appeared in the horror film The Hills Have Eyes and TV's Roswell. Janowicz has been seen on TV's Cold Case and as the "hot priest" in the movie Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.

'The O.C.' axed after four seasons

by lawsonjeff @ 2007-01-04 - 09:00:36

Teen drama The O.C. will come to a close at the end of its current season, Fox confirmed late on Wednesday.

The announcement confirms long-running speculation over the future of the series, which has seen its audience dwindle from a peak of over 10 million viewers in 2003 to just 3 million in recent months.

Josh Schwartz, show creator and exec producer, confirmed in a statement that the upcoming fourth season finale would also be the series finale. "This feels like the best time to bring the show to its close," he said. "Thanks to the hard work of our cast, crew and writers, we have enjoyed our best season yet, and what better time to go out than creatively on top."

He added: "It has been an amazing experience and a great run. For a certain audience, at a certain time, The O.C. has meant something. For that we are grateful."

Fox will air the remaining eight episodes every Thursday beginning today (January 4), with the series finale planned for February 22.

Season four begins on E4 in the UK next Tuesday (January 9) at 9pm.

by lawsonjeff @ 2007-01-04 - 08:57:46

Tickets were sold to local residents after a similar, un-ticketed event in 2003 ended in chaos when 250,000 people turned up, as opposed to the expected 60,000.

Fatboy Slim, otherwise known as Norman Cook, said: "I love the people of Brighton - they stood there and took everything the elements could chuck at them and still partied on."

by lawsonjeff @ 2007-01-04 - 08:48:37

Katie Price is in hospital with her four-year-old son after he suffered burns in an accident at their home.

Harvey, who is partially blind, was reportedly burned hours before the pair's New Year's Eve party was due to begin.

Claire Powell, Price's manager, confirmed the incident but said details were thin as the model and her husband Peter Andre have been at his side since.

"Harvey is now in a stable condition, but that's all I know," she explained. "I haven't spoken to Pete or Katie because they're at the hospital with him constantly.

"They're with him 24/7 and their phones are off," Powell continued. "I don't know how it happened, but I got a text from them to say that he's in a stable condition. They are devastated but they are being strong for Harvey."

The boy is at the specialist burns unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.

A source said: "Katie’s worried sick. It looks like he’ll be in hospital for a while."

by lawsonjeff @ 2007-01-04 - 08:46:31

Billie Piper has been accused of 'stealing' her new boyfriend from another woman.

The Doctor Who actress started dating Laurence Fox this month after ditching her boyfriend of two years, Amadu Sowe. Fox had been involved in a relationship with 29-year-old Martha Swann for six years and pals had expected him to marry her.

"Martha's really gutted by what has happened," a friend said. "She thinks Billie's to blame for the split. She'd been going out with Laurence for a total of about six years and then this happens. That's a long time to be with someone and for it all to end so suddenly.

"I know Martha thought she and Laurence were on the verge of getting married. She was thinking further down the line and obviously Laurence wasn't. She is really upset."

Mills wants four of Macca's homes

by lawsonjeff @ 2007-01-04 - 08:44:21

Heather Mills has demanded four of Sir Paul McCartney's homes as part of their divorce settlement, according to a report today.

The former model has told her lawyers that she wants to fight for properties in London, Sussex, Los Angeles and New York. A secret 'shopping list' drawn up by Mills also reveals that she expects a lump sum of £50 million as well as an annual allowance, because she believes that her marriage to Paul destroyed her career.

A source told the Sunday Mirror: "Throughout the marriage Heather told her friends and people she worked with that nothing good has come out of marrying Paul. She says before she met him she used to earn loads of money but being with him destroyed her earning potential."

Another insider added: "Heather is living in dream land. She hardly earned millions before they got together. If anything, her profile and therefore earning potential escalated after she met Paul. Paul has spent years building up his property portfolio and he's not going to be giving up any homes he owns without a fight."
