The star was kicked in the head whilst shooting a fight scene for the fourth movie in the series, and sustained cuts above his eye.

The hospital trip seemed only cautionary, however, as he left shortly after being treated. He was able to return to the set of Live Free or Die Hard the following day, to continue shooting the movie.

According to The Sun, the pair had an argument at Lillies Bordello nightclub before she fled to the Fitzwilliam Hotel without telling Willis.

A source told the newspaper: "When Matt cottoned on she had left, he called her and started screaming down the phone.

"Matt's manager was trying to calm him down because a lot of fans were gawping at him. He was supposed to be off the booze but he was definitely back on it in a big way.

Holmes dropped from 'Batman' sequel

by lawsonjeff @ 2007-01-30 - 09:41:31

Katie Holmes will not appear in the sequel to Batman Begins, it has been revealed.

The actress - who married Tom Cruise last year - was expected to follow up her performance as Rachel Dawes and is said to have turned down a $2 million deal.

Conflicting reports suggest she was rejected by producers because of her association with Cruise and the controversial Church of Scientology.

"Studios may be gun-shy of her new status as a tabloid fixture," a source told the Daily Mail. "And her expectations may be raised as the new Mrs Cruise.

"Stars of much bigger stature, including Meg Ryan and Demi Moore, have found it tough to regain their momentum after taking time off."

Holmes is said to have signed up for comedy Mad Money instead, while Wedding Crashers star Rachel McAdams is rumoured to be taking over from Holmes in Batman: The Dark Knight.
